A "greased up athlete"?
It must be draft season
I detest the way scouts/journalists try so hard to coin new terms or find original and quirky ways to express themselves. So often it sounds like a Freudian Mad Lib.

I will take DL or TE - if there is still the opportunity to do so.
I have experience as an athlete, and I have collegiate football experience. Not as an athlete, but I will decline to specify at this time.

A Randy Moss fan for life. A Kevin Williams fan for life.

Do you have a preference? I'll give you the DL for now, but I'm happy to switch if you have a preference,HardcoreVikesFan wrote:I will take DL or TE - if there is still the opportunity to do so.

Re: Offseason scouting: VMB draft board
Darian Thompson crapped the combine... Gotta bump him down a round. Still have some other data to digest.
Re: Offseason scouting: VMB draft board
Cody Whitehair only benched 16 reps at the combine.. there are guys 100 pounds lighter than him that do better ...
If he can't destroy that at a pro day it will really hurt his status

ILB list
Reggie Ragland will be gone most likely at 23 6foot One 247 LBs
worker comes off blocks . good mixture of talent and hard work
90 Tackles and nose for the ball projected top 15 pick
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5m-AlIheWg
Kendrall Brothers 6 Foot 245
Good Thickness and strength a reliable open field tackler with
nose for the ball. lacks long arm length and overall explosive speed 4.89 forty
more of a plug the middle guy old school MLB
projected 2nd round (IMO not a good Vikings fit)
Dominique Alexander 6 foot 232
if he drops to 4th round could be a good fit for the Vikings
reaks havoc and is very quick to the ball. experts say he came
out to early to support his family. Good fit for Vikings at 4-5 round) projected 3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbXGj2xT3_o
Tyler Matakevich 6 foot 238 pounds
Natural leader and good football guy speed might keep him
from a good Vikings fit 4.81 40 time. projected 4th round
this guy reminds of Mauti a little but not as athletic but less injuries
proected 3-4 round guy not a great Zimmer fit due to speed
Scooby Wright III 6 foot 246
Very quick and solid tackler could be a fit for Zimmers system
Experts debate his weight and strength. Shows great technique
as a wrap up tackler. (IMO a good Vikings fit in round four)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_M1PTdQyRVY
Antonio Morrison 6'1 245
True relentless player quick not elite speed Experts don't like
his arm length much. Good communicator and works his assigned
area well. (Good fit IMO for Vikings in round five ) projected 4th
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Sf2qpJVwxM
will add some more ILB later

Re: Offseason scouting: VMB draft board
These are kind of fun to read in hindsight...
I guess I was pretty far off on how the other GMs would value safeties. Some of that's because it was a deep class and so many teams knew they could wait. Some of that is GMs do not value safety as much, as it's one of the lowest paid positions. Some of it's there were safeties on tape I didn't get time to watch much of, and if a few safeties go and there's lots of decent safeties left, I can see teams going with a different position.
Crazy seeing Kearse go to us in round 7 and Jeremy Cash go undrafted. But I feel pretty good seeing that Cash made the Panthers roster when they have a pretty tough defense, and Kearse was voted as Mr. Mankato and had an impressive preseason and made the roster.
I'm pretty happy seeing how he has been much more aggressive than his college tape looked. Some people just step up their game.
Giants capitalized off of Thompson's bad combine and got him in the 3rd.
I won't be surprised if Kearse someday ends up being one of the best safeties of the bunch thanks in large part to Zimmer and his coaching staff and how Zimmer likes teaching the tall lengthy defenders how to use their size. Still hoping we get him into the active 43 as soon as week one and work him in one-on-one matchups vs Delanie Walker.
Looks like Jeremy Cash will be a LBer for the Panthers and gained 16 pounds in the offseason by eating his way into fitting the role and making the 53man roster. It's a little sad seeing him go undrafted. Would have been pretty cool to get Cash as a developmental LBer.
Cool seeing us get Kentrell Brothers so late in the draft. Someday Kendricks will move outside and perhaps Kentrell will compete to be the starting MLB.
