Well, technically, he did have a t-shirt and shorts on.

Interesting that he has Mosley outside the top 25. Because of injury history?

Shaun King's NFL mock draft 2.0 for 2014
8. Minnesota Vikings

Needs: QB, DE and OG

The pick: Khalil Mack (LB, Buffalo) – The Vikings' phone lines will be blowing up with teams trying to trade up for Mack. I'll slot Mack here, even if he won't be in Minnesota at the end of draft night. Having said that, I'm sure a defensive coach like Mike Zimmer has plenty of ways to utilize Mack.

Damn. Wrong thread!

Anyway, I really doubt Khalil Mack will last that long. If he does though, there shouldn't be any hesitation on our part to draft him.

Lance Zierlein's latest mock (some interesting selections here)

http://www.thesidelineview.com/columns/ ... ck-draft-2
8. Minnesota
SAMMY WATKINS
Interesting note about Dennard:
The more I dig around on the CB position with scouts and front office men around the league, the more I’m hearing that Darqueze Dennard could fall much further than most people think. I put him with the Saints in that spot, but that could easily be Kyle Fuller there with Dennard falling to the back end of the first or even out of the first round.
Bradley Roby @ 10, Mosely drops out of R1, Carr goes #5 overall, Hageman #14 overall,

Dane Brugler latest mock:

8. MINNESOTA VIKINGS

(5-10-1) Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville: The Vikings have been linked to Bridgewater in recent weeks and if he's still on the board with this pick, could they really pass on him? Many think Bridgewater falls out of the top-10, but I'll slot him to the Vikings for now.

Ouch that second round is a killer with Van Noy going a few picks before the Vikings. I would take Ealy over Adams, he shouldn't be dropping to the 2nd. Yankey falls out of the 2nd? I'd trade up for him. Oh and Jimmie Ward to the Packers, someone isn't going to like that!

No, that wouldn't make "someone" happy at all.

Bucky Brooks' First Two Rounds:
Minnesota Vikings: Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo
Linebacker isn't an obvious need, but the Vikings could elect to take the best player available with Mack on the board at this pick.
It's not?! Ha.
Minnesota Vikings: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU
Derek Carr will be in play at this point, but Mettenberger's talent and experience in pro-style system under one of Norv Turner's protégées (Cam Cameron) makes him the better fit in Minnesota.

Linebacker... isn't... an... obvious... need. Bucky needs to start paying more attention to NFL teams instead of just scouting college players!

If it comes down to those two I'd much rather see the Vikings draft Carr. I have a feeling he's going to be one of the more successful QBs to come out of this draft.

 How you just typed that up is how I read it the second time, just to make sure I read it correctly. It's like, "Wait a minute. Did that just say what I think it said?!"

Pretty crazy assessment, but I got a chuckle out of it. :-)

If Hodges and Mauti "come around" linebacker might not be that big of a need. They were both pretty good college players to say the least.

Yep. And if Ponder just gets the hang of things we really don't need to draft a QB either.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I think we need to address the LB position. Mauti, in particular, is not a sure bet w/ his injury history. He could very well have a trajectory similar to Childs.

Mettenberger also had some off the field issues when playing for Georgia. The article to me, makes me believe that he is a kid who took accountability for his actions, and I haven't heard any other negative things since, but in this day and age of NFL, its something you have to keep in mind.

http://onlineathens.com/stories/050410/ ... 6081.shtml
Mettenberger, who was kicked off the team by coach Mark Richt on April 18, grabbed the breasts and buttocks of a woman at Flip Flops, a bar near Valdosta, on March 7, according to Southern Judicial Circuit District Attorney J. David Miller. The victim was an employee of the bar but not working that night, Miller said.

"He was at the bar and was highly, highly intoxicated," Miller said. "He grabbed the young lady in places he had no business placing his hands."
