Post Pick4 Week 7 -- Schmoozing
New England is a double digit favorite over division rival Jets, despite being upset last week. Vikings are big favorites over the Cardinals who have looked pretty strong this year.

Stupid SanFran ... how difficult is it to pick up .5 points? It's not even a whole point! IDIOTS!

You certainly wonder what Seattle might have done without a rookie QB, Wilson and giving up so much ground up the middle, Seattle was pretty good otherwise except for their defense falling a a part up the middle.

But those who picked Seattle +7.5 covered the spread and for those who didn't see it, Harbaugh took 2 points off the board per a safety and otherwise, SF would have beat the spread!

Quote:
Jim Harbaugh accidentally orchestrated one of the more insane moments in gambling history on Thursday night when he declined a safety at the end of the Seattle-San Francisco game Thursday night game, leading to a 13-6 49ers win.

But here, I'm not sure if I agree with the word "accidentally", in declining the safety, SF took over on downs with what? 30, 45 seconds left. I guess if Seattle kicked off after the safety, they may have been able to try and onside kick though they would have been 9 points down.

Was #19?? Was he pushed out?? IT looked like that in the Saints/Bucs game...and I watched the replay a few times.

Not sure if that is a fair rule if it says he becomes an ineligible receiver.

I think that's a bad rule. If he's forced out, he should be able to come back in, period. I get that he could be pushed out there because Freeman had left the pocket, that's fine, but the way the rule is, the DB can make him ineligible and theoretically could have gone to cover someone else. I could have sworn the rule used to be that as long as the WR got back in right away (and before the ball arrived), it was legal.

Yes, I was just editing down my post.

That seems like a bad rule if #19 was pushed out.. it has me wondering, why the refs don't flag the Saints defender. A bit confusing. :?

Okay, edit again. So Tampa's qb was out of the pocket making the push out okay?? Alright.

What is this? I don't mind the Jets but I'd just as soon as see the Raiders/Jaguars game.

It seems Sunday or Monday night or the afternoon games are often the Jets.... course, this is against the Pats who are rather good usually. Still. Jets seem to be on every weekend except last when they whipped someone.

Yeah, the deal is that once the QB is out of the pocket, a WR could be blocking, so the DB is allowed to chuck or shove or whatever (not hold though) until the ball goes into the air, at which point pass interference would take over.

I caught Pereira on the post game and he explained it that way.

Man are the Lions disappointing when they were about to make a game of this, fumble to Bears, Urlacher recovers on 1 yard line, Lions kick returner muffed 2 returns...

Course, you do have to take into consideration, the Bears really do thrive on defense.
