I see Vigil in more of the Ben Gedeon role.
Vigil had 111 tackles in 16 games with Cincy in 2019. He only started two games for the Charges last year but still ended up with 50 tackles.
He's a downhill tackler who's really good against the run, but not an every-down linebacker. Hence the relatively cheap contract at $1.75 million.
This is quietly a good signing. The Vikings obviously see the need to shore up the run defense after the pounding we took last year.
