Here is who I would like the Vikings to consider (realistically) drafting in the upcoming draft. I have to investigate a lot of these players a bit more personally, but I believe most everyone listed would easily fit the offensive and defensive systems we want to incorporate:
- Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
- Austin Jackson, OT, USC
- Trey Adams, OT, Washington
- Ezra Cleveland, OT/OG, Boise State
- Ben Bartch, OT/OG, St. John's
- Ceasar Ruiz, C/G, Michigan
-Tyler Biadiaz, C/G, Wisconsin
- Ben Bredeson, G, Michigan
- Collin Johnson, WR, Texas
- Tyler Johnson, WR, Minnesota
- Quez Watkins, WR, Southern Miss. State
-Tyrie Cleveland, WR, Florida
- Anthony Gordon, QB, Washington State
- Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma
- Cole McDonald, QB, Hawaii
- Nate Stanley, QB, Iowa
- Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, Penn State
- A.J. Epensa, DE, Iowa
- Darrell Taylor, DE, Tenneesee
- Chauncey Rivers, DE, Youngstown
- Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina
- Justin Madubuike, DT, Texas A&M
- Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
- Raekwon Davis, DT, Alabama
- Antonine Winfield Jr., S/Slot, Minnesota
- Ashtyn Davis, S, California
- Geno Stone, S, Iowa
- J.R. Reed, S, Georgia
- Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
- Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
- Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State
- Bryce Hall, CB, Virgina
- Michael Ojemudia, CB, Iowa
- Lavert Hill, CB, Michigan
- Damon Arnete, CB, Ohio State
- Luq Barcoo, CB, San Diego State
- Essang Bassey, CB, Wake Forest
Considering we need two or more WRs I'm surprised you passed on all of the top ones. I know there's supposed to be lots of depth but still.........

I messed around on the Fanspeak and DraftNetwork Draft simulators. Did about 15 drafts. Once I got Herbert at 22 and another time Becton. You never know stranger things have happened.

Justin Jefferson
WR, LSU

The first NFL draft lines are beginning to bloom, and if you can get anything considering Justin Jefferson as the fourth receiver off the board and a lock first-round selection, take it. The biggest concern from Jefferson’s film was that he would test as an average athlete at the NFL Scouting Combine and relegate himself to full-time slot play and modest ceiling. Now, following a stellar performance in Indianapolis, Jefferson is the leader in the pack to follow the Big 3 receivers in the first round.

Unlike other standout testers like Denzel Mims or Jalen Reagor, Jefferson ran a highly diverse route tree at LSU and has shown the ability to sequence his routes with a sense of timing and spacing that will appeal to west coast teams that put multiple receivers into the concept on both sides of the formation. Jefferson could go as early as No. 21 to the Eagles, but seem like a better option for Minnesota, Seattle, San Francisco or Green Bay a bit later in the first round. Particularly, I love that 49ers fit.

Why do people say Jefferson can only ever be a slot guy? Just because that's what he did in college that's all he can ever be?

I think I struck gold with this mock I did on DraftNetwork. What you all think?

22
K'Lavon Chaisson
EDGE
LSU

25
Josh Jones
OT
Houston

58
Raekwon Davis
IDL
Alabama

89
Damon Arnette
CB
Ohio State

105
Chase Claypool
WR
Notre Dame

132
Damien Lewis
IOL
LSU

155
Devin Duvernay
WR
Texas

201
Tanner Muse
S
Clemson

205
A.J. Green
CB
Oklahoma State

219
Alex Taylor
OT
South Carolina State

249
Jake Luton
QB
Oregon State

253
Carter Coughlin
EDGE
Minnesota

Chaisson was too good to pass up at 22 and the rest IMO were a great combination of talent and need.
Was Luton a better choice than McDonald. I could have had him.

It is not bad but I do not really see Vikings waiting until the 4th round to draft a wide receiver

I had us taking Claypool in the 3rd pick 105. It was hard to read so I can see why you thought that. I edited it so future readers are less likely to be confused. We took Duvernay in the 5th. That is why I felt it was golden. Getting those two in the third and 5th was excellent. Chaisson is one of the top 10 players in the draft so getting him at 22 even if not a high position of need was a steal IMO. I've done like 25 of these and until this one I always felt it wasn't right. This was the first time I felt everything fell into place almost perfectly.

Here's a pretty nice mock I was able to do on the FanSpeak simulator.

22: R1P22
WR HENRY RUGGS III
ALABAMA
25: R1P25
EDGE K'LAVON CHAISSON
LSU
58: R2P26
CB JEFF GLADNEY
TCU
89: R3P25
C TYLER BIADASZ
WISCONSIN
105: R3P41
OT LUCAS NIANG
TCU
132: R4P26
RB ANTONIO GIBSON
MEMPHIS
155: R5P9
G JONAH JACKSON
OHIO STATE
201: R6P22
G JON RUNYAN
MICHIGAN
205: R6P26
DL RAEQUAN WILLIAMS
MICHIGAN STATE
219: R7P5
QB ANTHONY GORDON
WASHINGTON STATE
249: R7P35
LB TANNER MUSE
CLEMSON
253: R7P39
EDGE KENDALL COLEMAN
SYRACUSE

Got Ruggs for the first time and still got Chaisson and one of the best CBs. Got solid OL with depth, but no great OL. The RB Gibson is expected to play WR in the NFL with some great gadget play potential. The LB Muse is expected to play Safety in the NFL.

Jefferson is really growing on me. As of right now, my top 5 WRs are:

1.) Cee Dee Lam
2.) Jerry Jeudy
3.) Justin Jefferson
4.) Henry Ruggs
5.) Tee Higgins

Ahead of Ruggs, very interesting. I think Jefferson will be there at 22 maybe not at 25. The more I look at this draft if we don't take a corner with one of those first two picks we won't find a very good one later. I love the WRs, but almost feel forces to take a CB.

You wouldn't hear me complain if we drafted Jefferson. Talk about a school with a track record for wide receivers. OBJ, Landry, Chark, Gage. They have produced some really good wideouts down there in the bayou in recent years. Jefferson lit it up at the combine, and he excelled in a pro-style offense at LSU, so he's able to run the full route tree. He's almost a Diggs clone, IMO ... about the same size with the ability to catch in traffic, and even faster.

I just question whether he'll even be available at 22. If he is, I'd be all-in.

I recommend you all try the draft simulators at FanSpeak and Draftnetwork. Lot of fun. However fanspeak allows you to pick a big board to go off and if you pick the oldest one from January you can get some ridiculous results. I did it just for fun and don't expect any credit OK.

22 Ruggs
25 Gladney so far OK right?
58 A J Terrell Starting to look nice
89 Ezra Cleveland
105 Bartch
132 Cesar Ruiz this is where it gets ridiculous
155 Mims
201 Highsmith
205 Aiyuk yeah the WR ranked in the top 50
219 Igbinoghene Yeah the CB ranked in the top 30
249 Muse not bad for our safety at the very end of the draft
253 McDonald QBotF.

Kind of fun but stupid. If you stick to the recent big board your draft will be more or less legit.
Draftnetwork doesn't allow you to choose a big board and they are mostly spot on except they often have Herbert fall to 22.
