I was also disappointed to see the defense play rather conservative with that 10 point lead after being quite active for the first 3 quarters. Gotta play a complete game if we're going to continue to win in the playoffs.

That said, good win. We got the job done when it mattered, and hopefully can carry some momentum to the 49ers. The road will not get any easier.
I'm really happy about the win so I don't want to go negative right now, but the Vikings almost gave it away in the fourth with the play calling. I felt pretty confident once they were up until the play calling went conservatively both offensively and defensively and away from what had been working throughout the game. Then I thought the same as many, oh no, this is another time where they play not to lose and then will slowly end up doing that.

Thankfully they reversed that trend in OT and came out with an incredible win  So happy about it, and will be great to be watching again next week! Congrats to the whole team, both sides of the ball played really well for the most part!

Also, if I never see a toss to the outside on the 2 yard line again, that will be fine with me.

And I don't care if Cousins didn't see him once or 100 times, that is not the time for him to be throwing helmets and ragging on teammates and coaches.
I agree and I hope Zimmer has a serious talk with him about that (as in: "Don't pull that $#@* again.").

First off, defense played just short of great. Cook also had a very very nice game.

It seemed to me like the game plan coming in was to put the offense in the hands of Cook. Which is a good plan but they almost went overboard with it...almost as if they didn't trust Cousins too much either. And Cousins did make some bad decisions and bad throws that I think were caused by the weight/pressure of the game BUT ha also made some good ones. None bigger than the bomb to Theilen. Great throw. I hope this instills more confidence in him.

Thielen had a rough start but came up with huge grabs. Glad to have him back. I hope Alexander can play next week. Also kudos to Bailey for nailing his FG, the Lutz miss was huge.

Feels great to be able to get on this site and have a great vibe and optimism instead of the alternative we have had the last couple of weeks. Great for the team and for us the fans!

anyone know if we'll get Mac Alexander back?

Rhodes looked pretty hurt; O'Neil and Shamar got hurt too... hopefully they can go next week.

Kirk Cousins in overtime: 4-for-5, 63 yards, TD, 3 first down completions.

You like that?

O'Neill came back in the game a couple plays after he went out.

Hope they can get Rhodes ready. He's been playing well the past few games.

Great game! Cousins showed up and was composed throughout. The defense played really well. The running game was strong...though I wish they would have been stronger down the stretch. Good to see the vikings willing to take some chances offensively in overtime. Stefanski...enough with the stupid double reverse plays and the toss sweep wasnt working. Why keep losing yards and letting the pressure off the defense with that nonsense?

Great win today. On the road against a heavily favored team.

Random thoughts.

Although the passing game started slow and struggled again, Cousins came up huge when it counted today. Such big plays on the game winning drive. The 3rd down pass to Diggs, the big pass to Thielen, and the td pass to Rudolph. All 3 with excellent catches.

Cook was big today. He kept the defense honest and carried the offense in the 1st half. Good job by the ol and others blocking downfield

Defense played well, esp on 3rd down. Hunter, Barr, Griffen, stood out but the entire DL was solid. They were getting pressure with rushing 4.

ST is a concern. Punt coverage seemed lacking. Don't know if Colquitt is out kicking coverage but it needs to be addressed.

Playcalling inside the 3 and on the last drive in regulation was disappointing.

Is the value of a dominating RB slowly returning to the nfl?

No player is that good. After the playoffs trade him with the possible exception of Diggs as MVP in the Super Bowl and leading this team to the win. I could make an exception and extend a whole bunch of forgiveness if that were to happen. Seriously though, those kinds of antics hurt teamwork and contribute towards losses. I'll take a player who sits down and goes over the game plan with his QB and coach over counter productive fits of anger any day. I have never played football but I did something else that required wearing helmets, risking injury and fast action. Launching planes off a carrier requires teamwork and if one of our shipmates have pulled a stunt like Diggs did in this game they'd have pulled him off the deck before he became a distraction and got someone hurt. No tolerance for that sort of thing.
Agreed. While he was throwing a tantrum, my wife kept saying “Cousins is a head case, he can’t handle this right now!” Good thing she was wrong!

Good thing is Rhodes and O’Neil finished the game. I know things can swell up worse after injury, but hopefully they’ll be okay. Did Shamar finish the game?

Speaking of Diggs melt down. I wasn’t a fan of Rhodes melt down and apparent blame game with Harry and others.

How great was it to see Hunter and Griffin playing inside? Hats off to Zimmer for scheming a really nice game plan today. And hats off to the Vikings for surprising all of the experts (I didn’t see anyone pick the Vikings in everything I read and watched all week, did anyone else?) and also surprising a lot of our fans.
