Reads like what most articles on the upcoming Vikings season will be with Kubiak. That year the Ravens #2 TE caught for a little over half as many yards as the #3 or #4 WR. Now Pitta got hurt 3 games in, but Daniels only caught for 500 himself. If the Ravens did run a bunch of 2 TE sets, they used the second primarily as a blocking TE. Which is mostly what Smith has been used at in camp.

No way Smith sees time primarily as a blocking TE. If he's on the field and they're using him as a blocker, that is an incredible waste of his talent. Plus, blocking isn't his strength. He's not a bad blocker, but probably not the best blocking option at TE either.

I look for the TE's to show up more in the redzone both as primary targets and in terms of total TDs. Yardage will not tell the whole story, but that should increase modestly as well.

You hit it on the head. Smith won't be the blocker TE that will probably be Morgan I think.
