EAGAN, Minn. — It’s time to come home.

The Vikings continue their preseason schedule Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium against Jacksonville. Kickoff is at noon (CT).

The teams will see plenty of each other this week as the Vikings and Jaguars will hold joint practices at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center on Wednesday and Thursday.

Minnesota won its preseason opener in Denver behind an offense that put up 406 yards. Quarterback Kirk Cousins and the starters began the game with a scoring drive that ended with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs.

The Jaguars fell 24-20 in their preseason opener against New Orleans.

The Vikings will host Seattle on Aug. 24 at U.S. Bank Stadium before wrapping up the preseason slate at Tennessee on Aug. 30.

Here’s a look at Minnesota’s home preseason tilt against Jacksonville:

Jalen Ramsey and another defender

When the Jaguars inquired with Vikings coach Mike Zimmer this spring about a joint workout, it’s as if he could see into the future.

“When they called me, I just expressed my concerns that I don’t want this to be a fight or anything like this,” Zimmer said, via Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Of course, the Jaguars have mostly been fighting amongst themselves, and suspended defensive end Dante Fowler for his part in one, and cornerback Jalen Ramsey for yelling at the local media about reporting it.

Today and tomorrow, the Vikings and Jaguars will join for co-practices at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center before facing off at U.S. Bank Stadium at noon (CT) Saturday for their second preseason game.

The two teams finished No. 1 and 2 in overall defense last season, and NFL.com’s Adam Schein recently tabbed their units in the top two spots again. He placed the Vikings second on the list, saying it’s “no surprise” that the team is well coached under Head Coach Mike Zimmer.

Some takeaways from today's joint practice from my twitter feed:

No surprise but sounds like both defenses did pretty well. Bortles got picked off a couple times (Newman and I think Smith) and had several others (Rhodes and Barr) that sounds like they should have been picked. Cousins was feeling the pressure and checked down a lot, missed a few WR's that flashed open. He did hit Wright for a TD in redzone drills but not a lot of deep passes.

Siemian sounds like he had a good practice, as did Sloter and Wieneke.

Hughes looked good in 1-on-1s.

O'Neill held his own against Calais.

Josiah Price was carted off with leg or knee injury.

Remmers in pads but didn't participate much. Hill too.

Carlson was missing wide left a lot...
