Too bad for Hercules, he seemed like he had a decent chance at the practice squad. I did read that it was less severe than 90% of ACL tears so some silver lining. So what happens now, do we get to stash him on IR for the season?

I think he has to clear waivers first but then yes.

The Vikings placed rookie DE Hercules Mata’afa on injured reserve due to a new league rule that allowed the team to put him on IR without having to clear waivers first. Roster is at 90 after the addition of Mike Needham yesterday.

Wasn't aware of the new league rule. But either way, glad we were able to hang onto him

Didn't think this needed its own post.
The Vikings may not have their entire starting offensive line sharing game reps until the regular season, but they’ll get a bit closer to a complete set on Friday.
Right guard Mike Remmers and right tackle Rashod Hill have missed time, including the second preseason game, with ankle injuries. They have returned to practice this week, though, and head coach Mike Zimmer said on Wednesday that he expects both to play against the Seahawks on Friday night.

Is anyone else starting to get worried we haven't heard anything about Elflein? When he went on the PUP, it was under the preface (maybe assumed) that he would be there for a very short time. Training camp and preseason wore on we still haven't heard anything positive. I have a bad feeling about this.

And they just traded for a Center...Elflein might be out this season.

That was a panic driven comment on my part...I'm already looking for the more optimistic explanation

I really hope he just either sprained it or overstretched it.
