Wasn't a Vikings fan during his career but never missed a chance to watch him play. The most talented wide receiver of all time imo.

Hutchinson is also very deserving but Guards gave a tough time getting in.

Like many Vikes fans he was one of my favorites. I am glad he is a 1st ballot guy; however, to me he could have been much more...which is amazing looking at his numbers.

I remember the Packers Monday night game--I was in High School--man I felt a foot taller going to school the next day.

The play that stands out most is one against the Titans, its at 2:11 mark, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxTnVAARhTA&t=185s

Top four WR's and their TD catches.

Code: Select all

Jerry Rice. 197 1 TD for every 7.8 catches.
Randy Moss 156 1 TD for every 6.3 catches
Terrell Owens 153 1 TD for every 7.0 catches
Cris Carter 130 1 TD for every 8.5 catches.
Nobody caught TD's like Moss.

Impressive. Wasn't aware of that stat.

FWIW, top WR's like Moss and Owens average about 1 TD for every 7-9 catches. Above average between 10-12, Average about 13-18. When Moss was in Oakland his number fell to 1 in 10.

I just can't believe how few TDs Megatron caught. It's not like they had Earl Campbell to use in the redzone. And yes the Oakland years hurt him.

Jerry Rice caught 146 TD's in his first 11 years, for an average of just over 13 per year. The next 9 years of his career he averaged about 5.5 TD's a year. The only reason he is on top is that he played 20 years.

So happy to see my young childhood idol elected to the HOF. Still have his jersey I wore to elementary school. SKOL Randy.

He is the greatest of all time give him Montana or Young in their primes throwing to him and then see what his numbers would have been. He was never truly able to develop rapport with a single great quarterback. He played one freaking year with Brady and broke the all time record with 23 TD. Nobody could do what he could do on a football field, and I'm lucky to have seen him play 3 times (1 pre season) and he had a TD catch in all 3 games.

Moss had a ton of unreal plays. Here is one of my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8o--gh5R98

Moss was a freak of nature. Watching him blow past DBs time after time is like watching Usain Bolt competing against the rest of the sprinters in the world. Totally agree that he would be viewed as the greatest of all time if he played in a genius offensive scheme with a HOF QB like Rice did. Carter is still my favorite because of his determination, will, never stepping out of bounds to avoid a hit, NEVER dropping a ball, and avoiding the antics and shenanigans that tainted Moss's reputation, but Moss had SO much more talent than any WR I've ever seen. LOVED watching him in the Vikings' purple.

I think Moss was the greatest WR of all time completely unbiased. Imagine if Moss had played in NE with Brady his whole career lol. Or on the SF teams. His stats took a hit with his stay in OAK but it is not about stats it is about Moss vs every other WR in history no one had his abilities. He was like a combo of Chris Carter and Jerry Rice with more speed.
