If the Vikings look externally, I say possibly jay gruden if he gets fired or John defillipo from the eagles. Not a big fan of Hue Jackson. If they want to promote from within maybe QB coach kevin stefanski. He should know the system and has been with the Vikings a while coaching QBs, RBs and TEs.

Lions, Cardinals have permission to interview Pat Shurmur for head position. Mike Zimmer said: "If he gets requested to interview, I'll let him interview. ... I can give him certain days (teams) can come and do that ... You can request they come here... so that's what we'll do"

Yep, same here. I think it is just a distraction to the team.

I thought they couldn't. Isn't that one of the reasons supposedly that Childress was never hired until we hired him?

Vikings have to give permission during season

After season I am not sure if contract
matters or not.

Replying to @GoesslingStrib
Source says three teams have now requested interviews with Pat Shurmur: the Bears, Cardinals and Lions.

I'd hate to see Shurmur go, but he's deserved this. I hope he lands a head coaching gig.

What do you guys think about Jim Caldwell as a replacement?

If the Vikings lose Shurmur, Zim could bring back Norv Turner. They have the O Line in place now.

No to Caldwell and no to Norv. Both would be a step back or in the wrong direction..either way...no for me.

I'd be more interested in Caldwell's OC, Jim Bob Cooter.
