The word I heard is that Bucky Hodges has a concussion, and they are waiving him with an injury settlement to make room. I'm sure that makes a lot of VMB folks mad.

It's my guess that they like him to join the PS, but we'll just have to see. It's not like he did a lot during the preseason.

Is that the same Blake Bell from Oklahoma?

Hodges cut ? What in heck ?? The guy already proved to be a end
zone threat on a team that needs more scoring .. that makes no sense

I really liked Elijah Lee. I've seen plenty of him over the years against the Sooners. I thought he had a lot of potential and was surprised he slid to the 7th round. Oh well, that's why I am not an expert.

Side note: Kyler Sloter is a very impressive prospect (based on what I saw in preseason) he looked like he could make all the throws. I am very intrigued to see what the Vikings long-term plans are for him. Great pick up in my opinion.

Good story on Kyle Sloter. Future QB of the Minnesota Vikings? 6' 5". May need to protect this guy from being picked up. I mean it is possible that Bradford will stink and Bridewater never returns to football.

It’s a strange and magical tale that has unfolded with Kyle Sloter’s college career.

I’m going to attempt to convince you that Kyle Sloter is one of the five best QB prospects in the 2017 NFL Draft. Quite frankly, I think we could have been arguing for him as the top prospect had things turned out differently early in his bizarre college career (more detail on that in a moment). I do believe he has that kind of talent. Few in the football business will agree with that last statement…or would even allow it to be entertained for discussion, but I hope you’ll hear my story and decide for yourself.

Sounds like our new MoBo. The legend baton is passed.

Not really. Sloter has proven he can play with the 2s and 3s. Something Mobo never came close to.

Took me too literally.

He is picking up the narrative arc that fans seem to be attracted to: the Kurt Warner, from stocking groceries to winning the SB trajectory. The writer of that article has a feverish case of this obsession. MoBo's departure created a vacuum; Sloter filled it quickly.

I don't think anyone things Sloter is anything but a longshot, but he has far more polish and experience than Mobo coming into the NFL. So the odds, even if still long, are probably a lot better for Sloter than they ever were for Mobo.

The better "rags to riches" story is Bower or whatever his name is that cracked the DE depth chart on the Vikings as an undrafted free Agent. That is an impressive find IMO. Not only does the guy have talent, he cracked an NFL depth chart at a position where the Vikings are amongst the best in the league. Goes to show that NFL player eval is far from an exact science.

Good call. I was just talking to a guy who went to LSU and follows their program closely. He said they recruit great talent, but the scheme doesn't allow them to excel. He thought the Vikings were sharp for plucking Hunter and Bower.
