I'm going to adjust your WR list......Coley to PS and they hold on to Wright and Floyd. I sure hope they do not trade Wright as I think he is underused and is solid. I need to see more of Ham at FB to commit to him but wondering what our other rookie TE (Truesdell) is showing? I'm sure he is a total longshot and more likely a PS player but he is intriguing (as well as Bower). Would love to see one of these long shots burst upon the NFL landscape with their foot on the gas. Just my 2 cents.

I hope Wright doesn't get traded and plays more often. A lot more often. I think he's the best WR the Vikings have aside from Diggs and Thielen.

Let's see who (if anybody) can stay healthy among the OL players throughout preseason. That will help determine the starters. At least until they get injured as well.

From the blogs Truesdell has looked pretty good but that's a tough lineup to crack. Morgan sounds like he's not only a great blocker but has good hands. Definite lock to make the roster barring injury so that would leave Bucky to beat out.

Sutton and Datone have been pretty quiet so far, a lot more praise for Johnson and Stephen from what I'm reading.

If Floyd continues the way he has, he'll make the team. He seems to be the dominant WR behind Diggs and Thielen. Very little coming out about Wright and quite honestly, with the amount he's being paid, I can see him getting cut. $2.5M is almost as much as Thielen is making.

It's going to come down to who performs in the preseason. We also brought Keenum in because of his game experience .

Cook, Murray, Mckinnon, Ham
WRs
Diggs, Theilen, Treadwell, Adams, Coley, Wright/Floyd --- I could see wright getting traded, maybe for Kendricks brother from the eagles

Don't count Zac Kerin out.

DL
Griffen, Hunter, Joseph, Sutton, Robison, Jones, Stephen, Johnson
LB
Barr, Kendricks, Gedeon, Robinson, Brothers, Lee, Lamur
DB
Smith, Rhodes, Newman, Waynes, Sherels, Sendejo, Alexander, Kearse, Exum
ST

Preseason will determine who we end up with.

Will we keep 4 tight ends on the roster? Carter is currently looking better than Hodges in training camp.

It's looking close from what I've been reading. I'd bet they keep four.

Of course, the first depth chart is always a work in progress, what with preseason football coming up and always the annoying possibility of injuries. Sure hope the Vikings can remain healthy this year.

Anyway, looking at the list, who is currently regarded as the nickel back? Newman or Waynes? I assume the other guy will be the dime back.

According to ESPN: "When either Harrison Smith or Andrew Sendejo missed time in 2016, the Minnesota Vikings’ defense took a significant hit." I can't help but wonder if any of the safeties have shown significant improvement in camp, especially Kearse and Harris.

http://www.1500espn.com/vikings-2/2017/ ... velopment/

I think Marcus Sherels is an underrated punt returner. Even so, I think the days of kick returning explosiveness (as we saw from Percy Harvin and Cordarrelle Patterson) other teams respected might be gone.

And yeah, yeah, I know "kick returns supposedly aren't important these days in the NFL." That's true...at least, not until they happen.

Waynes is strictly on the outside opposite Rhodes. Nickel is a bit up for grabs but is likely Alexander. Newman is backup to Waynes but can also play nickel. I'm sure he could play safety too.

Haven't heard a ton about the backups from the blogs, Harris had an interception or two and I think maybe Kearse. With Kearse he has the measurables but sounds like he needs to work on his tackling. I'd assume both backup safety spots are up for grabs and the preseason will help. The good thing is there's no intermediate cuts anymore so teams take the full 90 roster through the last preseason game. Allows coaches to evaluate bubble guys longer.
