Reiff grew up in South Dakota. College roommate was Johnny Lowdermilk, son of ex-#Vikings center Kirk. He wanted to be in Minnesota.
According to Bleacher Report's NFL 1000, Riley Reiff finished with the 3rd highest run blocking grade among RTs.

Don't have numbers yet on Riley Reiff's deal with #Vikings, but am told it'll stack up well vs. other huge OL deals today. They paid up.
I didnt realize he was such a good run blocker. It was hard to tell due to Detroits terrible run game over the years. Would've preferred Wagner but from a durability standpoint, he's right with Wagner. Although I'd still feel more comfortable signing a true LT and keep Reiff on the right, I don't know if that will happen

He will get a shot to become the LT,weakness reported to be with speed rushers, so don't think he will turn into an all pro unless he gets much better, still an upgrade over what we had.
I'm impressed. Over the years it seemed that the Vikings either sat on their hands, had one gigantic signing, or mindlessly threw a warm body in a hole. This signing doesn't feel like any of those. Let's hope the Vikings are not done.
Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.
Including now, HOF WR #80 Cris Carter
I thought there was an OL thread of all the OL free agents, but can't seem to find it now.
Rams just signed Whitworth (Bengals) for 3 years $33.8. Whitworth is older which is probably why only a 3 year contract. A little less, but pretty comparable per year to what we paid Reiff at 5/58.

Not sure exactly. Haven't seen his ratings
I think Clemmings is a darkhorse RG candidate, but there should be a ton of competition for that spot already on the roster and if they add nobody else I think Sirles will lay claim to that spot..
