I like to think of it now as our practice facility.

From Rotoworld:

Vikings OC Pat Shurmur will interview for the Cardinals' head-coaching vacancy on Thursday night.

He interviewed with the Lions earlier today. The Cardinals interviewed DC James Bettcher on Wednesday and will sit down with Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak this weekend. Shurmur failed in his first head-coaching stint with the Browns but has rebuilt his reputation with a successful run in Minnesota.

NFL has clarified that even though the NFC team will be the visitors for Super Bowl LII, should the Vikings make it, they will practice at home in Eden Prairie and use their home locker room.

Not crystal clear yet.
Quote:
And while the Vikings haven’t been told whether or not they’ll be able to utilize their typical gameday production elements, the NFL’s focus on equity means use of normal home-game features — the Gjallarhorn, the fire-breathing dragon ship during player introductions, the exhortations for fans to send decibel levels soaring on opposing offense’s third downs — likely would be limited, if available at all.

I think the "fluff" pieces will need to be toned down or taken away but it seems like practice facility and locker room is confirmed.

Oh, someone's blowing that Gjallarhorn. Believe you me.

Packers requested to interview Vikes' assistant GM George Patton. Vikings declined the request.

Vikings signed CFL WR Brandon Zylstra to a futures deal today. Giving him guaranteed money well above standard for a CFL player. He caught 100 passes for 1,687 yards this year. He apparently had a lot of offers.

Another Adam Thielen.

Quote:
FARGO—The grade-school assignment was simple. Draw a picture of yourself of what you want to be when you grow up.

It didn't take very long for Brandon Zylstra to produce a picture that his mother would later display after his high school graduation. The artwork showed Zylstra wearing a No. 84, Minnesota Vikings purple-colored jersey.
...
Growing up in Spicer, Minn.,—located just over 100 miles west of Minneapolis—Zylstra was a Vikings' fan idolizing the likes of receiver Randy Moss who wore the No. 84 that Zylstra drew in his picture. Moss was the inspiration for him to switch from running back to wide receiver when he was a freshman at New London-Spicer High School.

Vikings could have another Thielen story with the signing of Brandon Zylstra

Vikes could shuffle the o-line around. I don't hate the idea of: Reiff-Berger-Elflein-Remmers-Hill.

I trust this more than Cam Jordan vs. Sirles.

I like the line-up, getting our best players out on the field for the playoffs, but didn't Berger struggle on the left side a few years ago?

Remmers played very little guard in college so it's a little concerning. I think from a talent perspective those are the top 5 but I don't know how it translates when swapping positions. I think after the Bears game they asked him if it was "like riding a bike." And his response was something like, "a bike I've never ridden before."

Sirles was a tackle in college as well.

Looks more like a baseball, lineup strategy than it does for football. Cohesiveness on the O-line is a crucial and it's a fine line you don't want to mess with if you can help it.

Hasn't it been known that Everson has been playing with plantar fasciitis? That's probably what it is, but I'm sure he'll play.

Newman DNP. I was hoping Griffen would be 100% with the rest.

Line now is -5

I don't think you can be 100% with 2 weeks of rest from plantar fasciitis. I don't know.

I thought so. I would honestly dress all three. If something happens to Keenum, who knows if either Bradford or Teddy will hold up.

I think that's the situation we're in whether we like it or not though. I think Teddy's one freak injury being healed is more likely than the continued beatings that Sam has taken to his knees over several years but it's like PMP said, I don't know that we can truly rely on either to stay healthy if they're called upon.

Well it sounds like Newman is not doing well... Maybe this week it could be him and see how things go?

I wonder how bad Newman's injury is, Zimmer tends to let the vets rest a lot more.
