Re: Texans @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 5
4 sacks today makes us 1 or 2 for most sacks in the league.
That was a game I never had in doubt for the Vikings.
Scherels with the run back, all field goals and extra points made, stopped an onside kick, forced them to kick a 50+ yard field goal that was missed. Great punt and kick coverage! great everything. Fantastic special teams!
After 4 games of Bradford without so many crucial players but able to have that great connection with Thielen, I am sitting here going "Teddy who? Bradford isn't even 30!"
Magnificent game!

One third down conversionS197 wrote: Probably the only negative today.
Glad to see Thielen step up big with nice support from Wright & Patterson. Did the Texans convert a 3rd down? Maybe on that last drive but before that, I don't think they did. Truly amazing!

Aside from Diggs, Thielen is the team's best receiver. He should be a starting with Diggs from now on.soflavike wrote:Thielen: 7 for 127 yds. 1 TD
Bradford: 22/30 for 271 yds. 2 TD's
Not too shabby!
Patterson should be the starting #3 WR.

all those, penalties at home was pretty ugly. Rhodes is a flag magnet. Half of what he does is legal but he still gets scrutinized so hard and hit with everything. The defense penalties are especially crippling since so many of our defense penalties either gave yards for third and fourth down under 5 to be first downs along with sutomstic first down penalties.
We are usually very disciplined and top 10 in fewest penalties, least yards, etc. So that will be a big focus from Zimmer in this bye week I feel.

Regarding Rhodes just look at the three receivers he's had to cover the past three weeks! You're not going to cover those guys 1on1 for 60 minutes without a flag or two.Hunter Morrow wrote:all those, penalties at home was pretty ugly. Rhodes is a flag magnet. Mike Zimmer: We have to clean up these penalties though. I’ve gotta get on these guys and keep them headed in the right direction.

With the way Bradford has been playing so far this year I don't think there are too many QBs in the entire league I'd rather have playing for us right now. Such a bizarre thought. I'm a Teddy fan but realistically I'd still rather have about half the league starting currently for our team over him. Bradford? Brady, Ryan, Big Ben, maybe Rodgers - that's about it.
