The details

Minnesota Vikings (0-1) vs. Detroit Lions (0-1)

Line: Vikings by 2

Series: Vikings lead 69-36-2, though after winning 16 of 17 matchups from 2002-2010, the Vikings have lost six of the last nine games against the Lions.

Last meeting: Kicker Blair Walsh had a 26-yard field goal attempt blocked in the fourth quarter, and a 68-yard desperation attempt failed in the closing seconds of a 16-14 loss at Ford Field on Dec. 14.

Coaches: Mike Zimmer (7-10, 2nd season) vs. Jim Caldwell (37-28, 5th season, 2nd in Detroit)

Play close: In the last 10 meetings, the most lopsided result has been a 14-point win, once by the Vikings in 2010 and once by the Lions on Oct. 12 last season. Six of the last 10 games finished with a one-score margin.

Last week: The Lions dropped an 18-point lead in San Diego, losing 33-28; the Vikings were trucked in San Francisco on Monday night, losing 20-3.

Sundays will be tough this year. I will not be able to watch many of the games. Today will be no different - I will not be able to watch them play.

I will say 21 to 20 Vikings. I hope the team bounces back. SKOL.

I just hope we get a much, much stronger effort from the Vikes this week (and a win). :v):

@mattvensel No lineup changes on defense. Hodges still in the middle between Barr and Greenway.

@mattvensel Xavier Rhodes is lining up at left cornerback in warmups, which suggests he might be trailing Calvin Johnson again today. #Vikings

Vikes are wearing white pants and Joe Buck isn't calling the game. It's going to be a good afternoon! :govikes:

Is this Kirk Morrison's first game? I've never seen him in the booth before.
