Cordarrelle Patterson. Over/under 2.5 TD'S on the season

Post by yezzir »

KFAN's power trip morning show has this bet going on.

If you had to bet a months salary, which would you take?

I'd bet the over with 4-5. He will get atleast 1 via kickoff.

Over. I'd say between 4-6 is reasonable. But with a bit of luck on special teams and a big game or two he could hit 8

Lol. Local media really loves to hate on Cordarrelle Patterson don't they?

Over. I think he'll get at least 2 from kickoffs, so he would only need one regular/gadget/running play to end up in a TD to get the over.

I'd take the over with my year's earning if I could. He had 2 TDs last year as a square peg in a round hole. Let him be a complementary weapon and watch him get much closer to his rookie numbers.

I'd bet over, but just barely. I don't see him getting many snaps on offense so maybe 2 return TDs and 1 run/catch td. I haven't seen anything this preseason to suggest he has it between the ears to succeed as an NFL receiver. I would love to be wrong though.

Agreed. All signs are pointing to him being about the same player as last year. So it depends on how Norv and Zimmer react to him not improving. My guess is he will mainly be ignored, and only utilized in unique situations.

He didn't get many snaps tonight, which isn't surprising. If he gets over it will have to be on special teams or razzle dazzle gimmick plays.

If last night's game was an accurate indication of how the Vikes plan to use him this year, I'll change my vote to UNDER (and then replace Norv Turner as OC and change it back to OVER again!).

The player can't run routes, get off bump and run, struggles with the playbook. And it's the coaches fault? Blame the media for being down on him?

Frankly, I have no idea how posters who are complaining about Patterson not being used properly think he should be used. We are talking about an offense that is allowing little time to get the ball out and they want Patterson trotting out there and not being where he needs to be? The QB is under enough pressure as it is.

Sure, if they want to see more screen plays or reverses or bubble screens, thats fine, but its hardly like it was the difference in this game.

Yes, that's it exactly.

Oh, and it should lead to interceptions. Lots of interceptions. ;)

We've been over this territory before so I don't want to go in-depth again. Suffice to say I believe his incompetence has been greatly exaggerated and I think he should be incorporated into the offense more... and not simply as a gadget player.
