Been a long time lurker, never been a huge poster but I am very excited for this team. I live in Denver but got my father and I tickets for the home opener and would be stoked for a win. Been to about 15 games and the only loss I have ever seen is at the college stadium when Brett got knocked out, but still a hell of a game.

I would vote but I will never say they will beat anyone. Nor will I say they will lose. Can they beat the Pats? Yes. Will they? Maybe.

It will be NO surprise to me if we beat the Pats at home.

I'm driving in from Winnipeg to watch this one, so they damn well better. Haven't witnessed a loss yet live, hopefully that streak continues. And it's not like I've been to a bunch of games vs. bad teams, was present for the huge upset loss against the 9ers a couple years back.

It's too early to vote, still pumped up over that butt whoopin we just put on the Lambs. Right now I feel like we're Super Bowl bound haha. Give me a couple days to soak in what a real road thumpin feels like before I get back to reality.

A quick look at how Zim has done vs Brady and the Patriots, as D coordinator in Cincy. Despite being in the same conference, he's only faced them twice since 2008. And to be fair, the weather conditions weren't exactly ideal for passing in that 2013 game, with swirling winds and rain. Next Sunday is going to be an interesting early test for what looks like a vastly improved defense.

Early Vegas lines have the Vikings 3.5 to 5.0 underdogs next week against the Patriots.

I think we CAN win. I am not going to chalk it up until we do it though. If Norv unshackles the offense early and the D plays like they did today, we have a chance to make it very interesting indeed.

I wouldn't bet the Farm...

Brady is still a HOF guy and Bellicheat can get the most out of his guys on any given day..

I don't like NE but they have been in it every year for decades for a reason ..

in addition they almost have to win against us to have any hope for home play off games..

0-2 would be a horrible start for them

Yes, and they don't lose two games in a row very often (the last time was in September of 2012). They should be a very tough test for the Vikings next week.

When was the last time they were 0-2?

2001, the year they beat the Rams to win their first Super Bowl

I just read this at the Strib site:

While the Vikings were beating up on the Rams, the Patriots were losing to the Dolphins. History says that could be bad news for the Vikings. Since the start of the 2003 season — the year when Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and Co. won their second Super Bowl — the Patriots are 18-1 after a loss. A meaningful stat or a silly factoid? I guess we’ll find out Sunday at TCF Bank Stadium.

Something seems wrong with that stat.

That would mean the Patriots have only lost 19 games in 11 seasons.

The stat I've heard is that they haven't gone 0-2 in forever.

Now you that you mention it, that can't be right, can it? Maybe they have the year wrong. Not including yesterday's game, the Pats have lost 19 games since 2009. I haven't checked to see if they're 18-1 following those losses though...

As I said above, the last time they were 0-2 was in 2001.

Star Trib needs better researchers.

2006. They lost to the Colts and Jets in successive weeks.
2009. They lost to the Saints and Dolphins in successive weeks. Then lost the last game of the season and their first playoff game.
2012. They lost to the Cardinals and Ravens in successive weeks

Also, since 2003 I believe their regular season losses amount to 39 if I counted correctly.
