Re: Does anyone think Jerome Simpson has improved?
Like the poster above me said, It's June so it's still too early to tell. Last off-season, Simpson had a good camp but once he finally arrived from his suspension, things just went downhill for him. This season will tell us where he's at.

There's no way to tell if Simpson has improved yet. We haven't seen him play in so much as a preseason game this year.

Re: Does anyone think Jerome Simpson has improved?
The most postive thing about JS to come up has been the reports that he is 100% healthy vs his playing hurt last year. What that means in terms of production, I have no idea. John Carlson is in the same boat. You have to think it will be better than last year though as both were playing at less than 100% all year long.
IMO, I think there is a decent chance we'll be pleasantly surprised. The NFL is so competitive it isn't unreasonable to think a guy physically at 80-90% is much more than 10-20% worse in terms of production than when he is at 100%. The league is just so tight, there isn't much room for weakness unless you are one of the gifted few.

I doubt very much that he's improved at all. He was injured last year.

Being healthy compared to injured is a kind of improvementEli wrote:I doubt very much that he's improved at all. He was injured last year.

I think it's kind of hard to truly evaluate Simpson based on what he did last year because of his injury concerns, as well as our struggling passing game. But, will he have better stats this season? He should, and I bet he will.

Haven't seen him play yet so it's hard to make a determination. But, a I would think a 100% healthy player will play better then he did if he was playing injured. So initially I would have to say yes.

Is he healthy might be the bigger question ... And the answer is just as foggy.

According to both Pelissero and Zulgad, Simpson looked healthy in the OTAs and showed better skill and attitude than he did last season while he was hurt.dead_poet wrote: Being healthy compared to injured is a kind of improvement
Again, it's June and no one probably knows anything for certain. Still, it's better news than to hear Simpson is still hurting.

He also apparently got a new bed.losperros wrote: According to both Pelissero and Zulgad, Simpson looked healthy in the OTAs and showed better skill and attitude than he did last season while he was hurt.

*sigh*
Am I really so hard up for Vikings news that I'm reading (and referencing) player beds?
The season really needs to start.

Do what I do and debate the merits of retired players in another thread!dead_poet wrote:He also apparently got a new bed.

We're all desperately awaiting the season. Heck, we were hanging on minicamp news for a few days. There was a time not long ago when that stuff barely even received coverage, much less live reporting.

Maybe you are. But I can quit anytime I want.
Go ahead. I dare you.

Nothing beats that time we discussed Mike McMahon's house being burglarized and a couple watches being taken for a couple of days. Whew.
