REF's ??????

Twice in a six-play span, the 49ers were allowed to withdraw a called timeout to challenge a play instead. The first one was reversed, a fumble by Toby Gerhart given to the 49ers after video review.

Re: REF's ??????
That defenseless receiver call against the 49ers was nearly as bad. Albeit different circumstances - one from not knowing the rules, while the other was just a very bad call.

Not even close, the hit was inches away from it being a flag hit. Plus it could fall either way as it was.Eli wrote:That defenseless receiver call against the 49ers was nearly as bad. Albeit different circumstances - one from not knowing the rules, while the other was just a very bad call.
Harbough #### his way into free flag AND another free TO and flag, theres no way to defend that. In fact the refs themselves say they really blew that call. No one mentioned the defenseless hit.

Inches away from being a valid penalty? LOL!PurpleKoolaid wrote:the hit was inches away from it being a flag hit.
Not after that clown circus at the end of the game. And the game was badly lost by the 49ers, so that a single penalty didn't lose it for them. It just contributed. No one mentioned the defenseless hit.

Re: REF's ??????
It sure is laughable for NFL players to continually rag and malign the replacement refs. Why don't they call out their own bosses, their owners? They are the cats who did the hiring!

You realize the rule applies to neck and head right? Part of the helmet almost hit the neck, very close. Could have went either way. I think its a pur rule. Unless its a deliberate hit, helmet to helmet.Eli wrote: Inches away from being a valid penalty? LOL!

Re: REF's ??????
Yeah, I just watched it again. The call by the official was unnecessary roughness. I think it must have been for being a late hit, not a hit to the head/neck. Hard to tell exactly, with the announcers' reactions and the lack of any explanation by the refs.

So let me get this straight ...indianation65 wrote:Why don't they call out their own bosses, their owners?
The players should "call out" their bosses.
Those would be the same owners who pay their go-zillion-dollar salaries.
I think you just answered your own question.
Go ahead. I dare you.
Underestimate this man.
Re: REF's ??????
Tirico even just said it on MNF. Where the **** are the owners in all of this? They're the ones ultimately responsible for this garbage.J. Kapp 11 wrote: So let me get this straight ...

A disgrace.
The NFL should be ashamed.

It was called exactly the way the rulebook says, both players had both hands on the ball, when they hit the ground, by rule the catch goes to the offense.Eli wrote:A disgrace.

You really have to be a homer (or a third-rate referee) to think that was a pass completion.me4get wrote:It was called exactly the way the rulebook says, both players had both hands on the ball, when they hit the ground, by rule the catch goes to the offense.
Re: REF's ??????
The ref has to go by the rulebook on that play and it says if both players are in possession it goes to the offense. The only review shown was from one side.Eli wrote: You really have to be a homer (or a third-rate referee) to think that was a pass completion.
