Another 300 lb "nose tackle"? A bust with the Bucs, traded to the Bears for a 7th round pick and didn't make the squad. The Vikes must be seriously worried about the middle of the line if they're looking at trash like this.Brian Price - DL - Bears
The Vikings are trying out free agent DT Brian Price on Friday.

2 years removed from being a high second round pick that dealt with a bit of personal trauma in that time doesn't constitute trash just quite yet.Eli wrote: Another 300 lb "nose tackle"? Re: 2012 Roster
Relax. Teams do this all the time, the Patriots most recently. They have Gronkowski and Hernandez, worked out/signed Shiancoe and worked out a couple more TEs recently. Think they're worried about their TE position?Eli wrote: Another 300 lb "nose tackle"? A bust with the Bucs, traded to the Bears for a 7th round pick and didn't make the squad. And to clarify: Per FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, Price's release from the Bears is due in part to his struggle to "get past the recent passing of his sister." Price's sister was killed in a May automobile accident.
He's young and a former 2nd rounder. Don't you think it makes sense to just give the guy a workout? Where's the harm in that? For all we know they're simply updating their emergency contact list in case injuries strike.

Re: 2012 Roster
They're just looking. There aren't a lot of excellent defensive tackles without personal baggage on the street right now so they're looking at a former second round pick who has struggled with injuries and personal issues. It's not as if Price is a no-talent player who has never made an NFL roster.Eli wrote: Another 300 lb "nose tackle"? Sheesh! Even non-moves by the Vikes draw sarcastic criticism.
Re: 2012 Roster
it seems like the Vikings have a lot of fans that just want to complain about everything the team does ..
strange.. why don't hey buy their own NFL franchise and prove the world wrong

Yes! Price is a beast if he can get his concise clear. TBH though, I would rather see Christian Ballard more reps but if we signed Price I would be happy.dead_poet wrote:Brian Price - DL - Bears

Price has played in schemes like Leslie Frazier's with Tampa and Chicago, so he'd immediately know the terminology. The Vikings are looking for depth behind Kevin Williams and first-time starting NT Letroy Guion. Price has been a nose tackle in the league and could push Guion for snaps eventually if signed.
