As we all know, the RB position depends on how AD looks. I like Gerhardt a lot, but if AD can't kick it in gear like he used to, then I hope the Vikings keep Jordan Todman as well. Todman can fly and that gives the Vikings another breakaway threat. He can also be a returner.

As for the WRs, I really expect this group to be better than what the team had last year. But aside from Harvin and Simpson, I'm still not completely sure who makes the team or doesn't. Seems like some close calls, in my view. There could be some hard fought competition during the preseason.

I'm going to be interested in seeing how the LB positions pan out. That's another big question mark. And the D secondary is still a big concern.

Could the OL and DL positions actually show the most consistency this year? And I don't mean consistently inconsistent. :D

Not a whole lot of news or insight in that writeup, except maybe for this:

"Gerhart has bulked up"

I wonder if he's finally ready to accept his destiny as a hybrid RB/FB. It's the best possible scenario for the Vikings. He gets on the field more, and he'd be lined up more often in the same backfield with Peterson, making it tougher for defenses to key on Peterson. He'd also work better as a third down back. We already know he can run and catch, but all things being equal, you'd much rather have a larger blocker in the backfield to pick up blitzing linebackers and linemen that break free. It would also mean that the Vikings wouldn't have to hand out a roster spot to one of those journeyman fullbacks that they collected this offseason.

Definitely be nice seeing less of those TE/FB guys who bring nothing to the game other than the skill set of an undersized offensive linemen.
