 Felton arrested
Jerome Felton - RB - Vikings Vikings FB Jerome Felton was arrested on DWI charges early Saturday in Hennepin County, Minn.
Felton was arrested after refusing to submit to a chemical test. He signed a one-year, $700,000 deal in March. A former fifth-round pick, Felton appeared in 14 games between the Colts and Panthers last season, and is the favorite for lead-blocking duties in Minnesota.

Quote: is the favorite for lead-blocking duties in Minnesota. I wasn't aware of that. I would have thought that Lex Hilliard was more versatile and that Ryan D'Imperio was still a good bet due to his experience with the team and the fact that his blocking continued to improve all through last season. Also, with all the TE/H-Back talent on the current 90 man roster, I wouldn't be surprised if they kept none of the dedicated FBs and instead kept an additional TE.

 Re: Felton arrested
Felton also was charged with third-degree DWI with the aggravating factor of one prior DWI conviction within 10 years.
Cut him.

 Re: Felton arrested
While we're on that subject, let's just get this over with and cut Jared Allen. Three DUIs? That big drunk. What a waste of a roster space.
<edit>
Plus, I heard Adrian Peterson is a chronic jaywalker who coerces poor minimum wage fast food workers to let him use the bathroom at 3am. Useless. And I don't even have to say anything about Harvin, we ALL know where that guy stands, what with those pre-draft drug tests. Cut him. NOW!
I say this team ONLY drafts and signs ordained ministers from this day on, and only ones that subject themselves to daily drug and purity tests. /sarcasm
Sorry, I can't take the hypocrisy, it's just too much. If a player contributes, we all overlook their shortcomings...if they're "scrubs" brought in for camp, we don't even give them a chance to clean themselves up. The Vikings can bring 90 guys into camp, and they're at 89. I don't think they're going to find 2 amazing hidden gems right now. Felton was actually considered the frontrunner of all their fullbacks to take the job of keeping Adrian Peterson from being off the field for another season. I'm sure Ryan D'Imperio will get the job done flawlessly, though.
Don't worry, guys, they'll cut the guy before he has a chance. After all, he's a scrub, and we know that's the reality of the business. Hypocrisy is the name of the game.

I know it's pretty amazing but yeah, your ability to do the job is what determines your value. And affects how someone is treated when they do something that reflects poorly on the organization. And why shouldn't it? He's contributed nothing to this team but bad press. And isn't likely to contribute all that much beyond it. Do we really need to risk more things like this in the future for a possible starting fullback that it's entirely possible won't even make the final roster? I guess so with a league leading number of arrests the "culture of accountability" was a big fat case of the more things change, the more they stay the same...and people wonder why this team can't accomplish anything meaningful. They don't care enough to do it right...in any way...

 Re: Felton arrested
Of all the crimes that people commit in the NFL that has to be one of if not the dumbest. Its just like the military. Command twisted itself into a pretzel to get people to use any of the half dozen taxi services to bring people back home or to the barracks. Nobody ever used 'em, everybody always got public intoxication and DWI. NFL is the same thing. They've got the taxi services plus everybody in the NFL makes at a minimum hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. Dumbest thing IN THE WORLD to get rung up for.
Buy the 40 dollar cab ride, dummy. Anybody getting DWI is a moron and should be cut just on the basis of them being moronic.

 Re: Felton arrested
Maybe if the NFL took it more seriously instead of slapping these guys on the wrist (hell legal system is just as bad on DUIs) it wouldn't happen so often...

Jerome Felton - RB - Vikings
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed the league is reviewing Vikings FB Jerome Felton's Saturday arrest for DUI.
Felton already had one DUI arrest within the past ten years. He's now subject to discipline under the NFL's personal conduct policy. Signed to a one-year, $700,000 contract, Felton won't be guaranteed a roster spot this summer. Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press
