Wonder how much WR's we will actually keep going into the season. My guess is probably 6...

They need all the weapons they can get so I hope so!

Who are all 12 btw?

Of the six, Harvin and the two draftee's, then who? Jenkins and Aroma probably have good chances but doesn't seem like a huge loss to try and replace either of them.

Percy Harvin
Jerome Simpson
Michael Jenkins
Greg Childs
Jarius Wright
Devin Aromashodu
Stephen Burton
Emmanuel Arceneaux
Bryan Walters
Kerry Taylor
AJ Love
Kamar Jorden

I think they'll carry 6 due to the Simpson suspension. Percy, Simpson and the 2 draftees are locks. That leaves 2 spots. I assume one goes to Jenkins although I'm not convinced he's a lock to make the team. Which leaves the other 7 to battle for one spot. Taylor, Love and Jorden are extreme longshots.

When Simpson is activated for Week 4 That 6th guy probably gets cut unless he really stands out. If it's someone other than DA they could just be re-signed to the PS.

I agree that the top spots go to Harvin, The 2 draftees and probably Jenkins, Aroma. When Simpson comes back week 4, he takes a spot so that's six. If any of those other guys want to make the team, it will have to be on special teams...

Jeff Charleston - DL - Vikings
Vikings signed DE Jeff Charleston and waived DT Terrell Resonno.

A fringe roster type as a situational pass rusher, Charleston has posted seven sacks in 52 games with the Saints over the past four seasons. Resonno went undrafted out of Mizzou in April.

Not that anyone cares but Lorenzo Booker signed with the Bears.

I updated that plus Abdullah's semi-retirement.

Meh its the offseason and I'm bored.

It's just like the hypocritical NFL, though. One team dismisses a player within a matter of hours of his arrest for this, that or the other, and someone else picks him up. Michael Vick, Jerome Simpson, Lorenzo Booker, etc., etc. Nothing ever really changes.

When did Booker get arrested? Are you confusing him with someone else? Caleb King maybe?

He was a FA the Vikings and didn't re-sign. I liked him as a returner/depth but he had fumbling problems and we needed to give younger guys a shot.

He's probably a longshot to make the Bears anyway. They got Forte, Bush and K.Bell.

Ugh. I was thinking of King. I guess I'm getting to that age where I remember May 1972 better than I do May 2012.

According to Booker's stats, the two fumbles (one lost) last year were the only two of his career. I have a feeling there were other reasons for not wanting him back. Could just be his age and lack of upside. Not enough reasons to bring back a third string 28 year old running back.

How is that hypocrtical? If one team decides it won't tolerate something and another is willing to give a guy a chance, that is two different entities reaching different conclusions. It would be hypocritical if the same team cut a guy and then resigned him a day later after making a big show about their values. The NFL hands down it's own punishments as a league which is above and beyond whatever a team decides to do. This is just competition, nothign wrong with it. By the way, I'm really glad the Vikings were super hypocritical when they wasted a 1st round draft pick on that pot head Randy Moss. WTF were they thinking?

We're about a week away from camp and both EJ and Shank haven't been picked up yet.

I think Shiancoe will catch on with someone. EJ, unless it's with the Vikings, I'm not so sure.

Shiancoe is visiting the Pats. I know the Vikings would prefer to turn the page on EJ but it wouldn't surprise me if they gave him a one-year vet-minimum deal if/when Brinkley disappoints/gets re-injured during camp/preseason.

Kevin Murphy - T - Vikings

Vikings re-signed OT Kevin Murphy and waived OT Darrion Weems.

Undrafted out of Harvard, Murphy was claimed off waivers from the 49ers in mid-May only to be cut two days later. According to the Boston Globe, Murphy was "ill" after the draft. Weems was signed as a UDFA out of Oregon.

Shiancoe signed with Pats. 1 year 1.2m

With Camp starting soon that probably wraps up the off-season moves portion for the Vikings unless E.J. Henderson gets re-signed or signed.

Other unsigned guys:

Abdullah is on a religious quest or something gonna come back to NFL either mid-season or next season. And Kooistra is likely to retire due to injury if he hasn't already.

Adibi, Camarillo, Katula, Sapp, Herrara and Longwell might be done in the NFL barring being picked up as depth after a camp injury or 2. I'd say Longwell has the best chance at finding work.

Although Husain Abdullah is doing a religious pilgrimage, I thought he was considering retiring from football.

Remi "gimme my money" Ayodele signed a one year contract with New Orleans back in May.

Knowing Belachick - Visanthe Shiancoe will be used as a WR, FB, C, and his well hung butler.

Shiancoe was signed mostly as insurance against injury, considering that he's playing behind Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. They just signed free agent Daniel Fells to a three year deal this offseason, which makes Shiancoe the Patriots' #4 TE. Fells has a leg injury right now. If he recovers, Shiancoe will be lucky to see the field this season.

Hernandez was used as a RB in some situations. Be interesting to see how Shiancoe will actually get used.
