This deserves a thread.A magnetic resonance imaging exam Saturday night confirmed Peterson suffered a torn anterior crucicate ligament. That injury could keep Peterson from being available to the Vikings at the start of the 2012 season.
His first thoughts?
“Oh Lord,” Peterson said after the game, before he received the diagnosis. “I just knew something bad happened.”

Re: MRI confirms torn ACL for Adrian Peterson
Adrian reminds me of Ronnie Lott in that he would do anything to play, sucks that this had to happen. However I believe Adrian would rather play and risk getting hurt than sit.
Worst thing is he won't be the same. 3rd season a Viking has gone with a destroyed knee and it sucks.

Re: MRI confirms torn ACL for Adrian Peterson
Crappy news....
I assumed as much just from the way he was acting on the ground. He's way too tough to be squirming the way he was without it being serious. Haven't watched a replay and I won't. I hate that this happened....I really hope he can come back from this.
Very friggin sad.

Absolutely heartbreaking.
Great player, great guy...I just feel sick.
One of the worst days in franchise history.

Who is Josina Anderson? Man I hope that MCL news is wrong.A source with knowledge of the situation told ESPN's Josina Anderson that the MRI also revealed that Peterson tore the MCL in his left knee as well.

The one bright spot is ADs conditioning and how much he takes care of his body, also he is kind of a physical freak. That could potentially help him return to full strength.

Yeah, she's got credibility as a reporter. I have no basis to challenge her other than I want her to be wrong.purpleTang wrote: I dont know who he is I found the article and just shared it. I also hope he is wrong.

This is as devastating as the day Daunte Culpepper went down vs Atlanta in the 2005. season. It totally turns upside down the franchise's plans for the future. As a person I feel just awful for AD, who has been the consumate professional from day 1 and a true class act in all respects. As a fan, I wonder why the team seems cursed to historically tragic injuries and what next? I firmly believe AD can be great again, but never again the transcendant difference maker that requires defenses to change their scheme just to control him. A sad day for all.
