 Re: Gerhart signs
Just in the nick of time! I'm glad he's not going to be delayed even further, since he missed all of the OTAs and mandatory minicamps to finish college.

Here was the real deal clincher, about 30 minutes before he signed: "Toby Gerhart's family spotted in Earl Johnson furniture right now...more news to come."http://twitter.com/BobKroehler/status/19925635542Earl Johnson Furniture 126 East Cherry Street Mankato, MN 56001-3709

 Re: Gerhart signs
1. He had some monster holes to run through. 2. He has better than average vision. 3. He's faster than he looks. Will he be able to out-run guys at the NFL level? 4. Rarely does he go down at first contact. 5. His legs are always moving forward. 6. Nice one-cut ability. I can't wait to see what he can do. I hope he can live up to his draft position and be a valuable asset and contributor from the get-go.

He's a smart kid with a high GPA from Stanford. He ain't no dummy. His thought process is probably very fast. 3. Those are young legs and the guy looks pretty fast to me. 4. He is a wrecking ball. And drags players along for the ride. 5. YES they are 6. Yes, and Bieniemy will only help him improve. 7. Like Robert Smith, he is a highly motivated, intelligent Running Back. If he can block, he will be successful on this team. AD/AR....should make for some exciting football.

Really what was his G.P.A I know mines was 0.2 until I got expelled from school. typically stanford grads get the benefit of the doubt but here's a few things. first, one of his biggest attributes in this years combine was his intelligence. it was widely reported. and while i don't know his college gpa, i know that out of highschool he had a 4.6 gpa! upon high school graduation he already had 36 junior college credits through the ap program. he also scored an 1810/2400 on the s.a.t. unless he turned into a dummy at one of the best schools in the country...it's safe to say he's not a dummy. ***EDIT*** found this link upon further investigation.... "Gerhart on the other hand is a student-athlete in the truest sense of the word. Not only does he go to an academic—first school in Stanford, but he carries a 3.25 GPA in the classroom while majoring in Management Science and Engineering according to ESPN. Academics aside, what he's doing for tiny, afterthought Stanford is simply amazing." http://bleacherreport.com/articles/3073 ... man-trophy

When I was in high school, our honors courses didn't add anything to our overall GPA, but if you take honors courses and score highly, you can get a 4.6. Just something for those of us who didn't have that option and have no idea how you can get a 4.6 out of a typical 4.0 grade scale. I found that out last year and it really pissed me off. I took honors courses and never got that extra bump in my grade point that could have helped me get more scholarship dough. As a result, I'm still paying back college loans 11 years later.
