Actually, he won the Walter Payton Man of the Year CHALLENGE.

I'm not sure what that is, but the actual award will be announced Feb. 2.

I know, right?

I Googled "Walter Payton Man of the Year Challenge" and amazingly got no results. The Vikings.com website didn't explain anything.

There's an explanation here:

https://www.dailynorseman.com/2019/1/20 ... ta-vikings
Rudolph won this award as a result of Vikings fans tweeting and retweeting the #WPMOYChallenge hashtag with his last name more frequently than any of the 31 players that he was competing against (each team nominates one player for the award). Winning the Charity Challenge means that Rudolph will receive an extra $25,000 for his charity of choice.

Yeah I saw that last night and was confused too. Well either way, him winning that kinda shows that he has a legit shot to win the real award I would say

Considering he plays for what most concede to be a smaller market, I think it's a huge feat. I hope he wins the whole thing. That would be nice.

I was fooled too. Still, congrats. It's good all around when it comes to this award.
