 Re: Harrison Smith not Suspended
Good news! And the right call (IMHO) on both the ejection from the game and the non-suspension....

That's good. I hope we get to continue to see some more of Blanton mixed in there at times.

 Re: Harrison Smith not Suspended
I didnt think they were gonna suspended him. His apology was sincere, and he repeated it over and over. Smart kid.

 Re: Harrison Smith not Suspended
It was a bad move on Smith's part to swipe the official aside, but Smith didn't initiate the contact, nor did he strike the official. The ref was pushing him back and did so for about five yards.
Correct call.

How much was he fined? And I also think that was a good call not to suspend him, were going to need him against the redskins

I thought yezzir said he was fined It was a typo - The title of the article at the link Yezzir posted said he wouldn't be fined and the following was in the article: Quote: Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said on Monday afternoon that Smith will not be suspended or fined for pushing aside back judge Steve Freeman...

 Re: Harrison Smith not Suspended
he shouldn't have suspended for that.. If the ref would have handled it better he wouldn't have even been ejected

 Re: Harrison Smith not Suspended
Suprised that this wasnt posted here yet, no fine, no suspension. The ejection from 3/4 of the game was punishment enough http://www.vikings.com/news/article-1/H ... fa4867c3e6Quote: EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Vikings strong safety Harrison Smith won't be punished further for his shove of an official that drew a 15-yard penalty and automatic ejection from Sunday's game against Tennessee.

 Re: Harrison Smith not Suspended
Just thought that this would be a good avenue for a shameless plug for me - I've started writing for The Viking Age, and my first article is based on Harrison Smith and the safeties. Let me know what you think! http://thevikingage.com/2012/10/09/after-seasons-of-ineptitude-safeties-finally-bring-some-energy/

 Re: Harrison Smith not Suspended
I guess they figured that as a rookie he quickly admitted to his mistake and thus they won't pursue it any further.

By the same token, no ref should be aggressive with a player, especially one who is already hot under the collar at an opposing player.

This kid reminds me of Gary Fencik from the 85 bears.
