Minnesota Vikings @VikingsFootball
To make room on the 53-man roster for Jefferson and Asper, #Vikings have waived OL Pat Brown and CB Zack Bowman. Vikes also confimed Jefferson trade for undisclosed Draft pick. @$#@!* Disclose that draft pick! I want to know what they traded. I figured Brown might be gone as soon as they needed to open up a roster spot. I thought Bowman would be able to earn a spot on the team but maybe it's a good sign that he didn't. It might indicate some actual improvement in the depth of the secondary.

Pelissero RT'd a Cardinals beat writer who said that its the conditional rights to swap picks in the 6th or 7th round. So basically the Vikings gave them nothing. Don't know what the conditions are though.

The Vikings put a claim in on OL Ty Nsekhe who was waived by the Colts but he was awarded to the Rams on waivers.

 Re: 2012 Roster
Any reason why they're keeping Nick Taylor on IR instead of just giving him an injury settlement?

I've heard quite a bit about Patriots and some other teams putting guys on IR as a way to stash developmental guys while keeping their rights and giving them some time to get in football shape. Could it be something like this?

Could it be something like this? Yep. The Vikings probably didn't see enough of him before he got hurt to make an assessment so they'll stash him on IR and bring him to camp next year. Not that I expect him to make the team anyway.

 Re: 2012 Roster
Brian Price - DL - Bears
The Vikings are trying out free agent DT Brian Price on Friday.
Price has played in schemes like Leslie Frazier's with Tampa and Chicago, so he'd immediately know the terminology. The Vikings are looking for depth behind Kevin Williams and first-time starting NT Letroy Guion. Price has been a nose tackle in the league and could push Guion for snaps eventually if signed. They have Gronkowski and Hernandez, worked out/signed Shiancoe and worked out a couple more TEs recently. Think they're worried about their TE position? And to clarify: Per FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, Price's release from the Bears is due in part to his struggle to "get past the recent passing of his sister." Price's sister was killed in a May automobile accident. He's young and a former 2nd rounder. Don't you think it makes sense to just give the guy a workout? Where's the harm in that? For all we know they're simply updating their emergency contact list in case injuries strike.

There aren't a lot of excellent defensive tackles without personal baggage on the street right now so they're looking at a former second round pick who has struggled with injuries and personal issues. It's not as if Price is a no-talent player who has never made an NFL roster. Sheesh! Even non-moves by the Vikes draw sarcastic criticism.

 Re: 2012 Roster
it seems like the Vikings have a lot of fans that just want to complain about everything the team does ..
strange.. why don't hey buy their own NFL franchise and prove the world wrong
