Re: What now? A golf analogy

As an aside to this, I wonder why teams that don't have a clear-cut starter don't switch QBs out more in game. Not as a punishment for not playing well but as an actual strategy. QB by committee where you rotate them in based on their strengths for a given play. Probably because it rarely works, ev...

Re: What now? A golf analogy

To use your golf analogy, Dobbs is playing the game missing his driver. Even better! Wish I had thought of that. There are some WRs that allow a QB to go to the next level. You could put just about anybody out there with Randy Moss, chuck it up, and have at least some success. I think Jefferson is ...

Re: Bears at Vikings MNF

After mattisons first run after the turnover, I texted my buddy and said “I already don’t like how this feels, KOC didn’t learn from last week”. Sure enough he proved me right. KOC has a lot of positive traits as a HC. But I truly thought that after last week not trying to put the game away at the ...

What now? A golf analogy

Well guys, we've got two weeks to sit here and twiddle our thumbs, so I thought I'd ask a simple question. What now? The 2023 season is truly at a crossroads. Beat the Raiders and the Bengals on the road, and suddenly the 8-6 Vikings have a path to the playoffs. Lose either one, and it gets pretty h...

Re: Who Starts?

So what team do you guys think will make the Playoffs in place of the Vikings? ...(who by the way currently have an 80% chance of making the playoffs) I actually think the Vikings chances of making the playoffs are pretty good right now if Dobbs remains the starting QB. Dobbs improves some aspects ...

Re: Bears at Vikings MNF

As many of you know, I've been a Vikings fan since the Nixon administration. I've seen all four Super Bowl losses. I've watched all 10 NFC Championship Game appearances. I've seen a lot. But it just hit me today ... Every year, there comes a moment where I realize ... it's over. This isn't the year....

Re: Bears at Vikings MNF

Yeah, as said by others, for all the speculation that KOC wants a more mobile qb...I question if he can actually design an offense around one. He is showing a lot of stubborn square peg round hole traits. On the surface, this is a perfectly legitimate criticism. Here's the only thing I can say. The...

Re: Bears at Vikings MNF

First off the fact that Fields wasn't flagged for grounding in that last drive is just another example of the horrible and inconsistent officiating that has been on display this season. But I'm not blaming that for our loss. As said above , the play calling in our last possession after getting that...

Re: Bears at Vikings MNF

I agree with Cliff. I don't think KOC would pull Josh Dobbs unless he got hurt. Dobbs does plenty of things well. He just needs to play with that quiet mind that KOC finally got Cousins to play with. Easier said than done, but inserting Nick Mullens or Jaren Hall probably wouldn't make much of a dif...

Re: Vikings at Broncos

I’ve been watching Matthew Coller’s excellent podcast “Vikings Insider” this morning. His guest, Brian Murphy from the Pioneer Press, made some great points. I’ll do my best to summarize. — The Vikings are a good team. Of that, there’s no doubt. But they’re not an elite team. So for them to go on th...

Re: Vikings at Broncos

Doesn’t matter if Dobbs or Mattison are big-ticket items. The Broncos have been doing this all year. The Dobbs hit was Jackson’s third PLAY after coming off suspension for the same crap. The investigation likely will center on the Broncos’ pattern of questionable play, along with any role Bounty Bo...

Re: Vikings at Broncos

The Dobbs non-call was heinous. And the fact that it came on the third play of the game from Kareem Jackson, who had just come off a 4-game suspension for repeated headhunting, made it infuriating. They also missed a headhunting call later in the game when Simmons drilled Mattison in the face on a ...

Re: Vikings at Broncos

We were outcoached. Both KO and Flores. Flores had the D playing well, but at times, faltered. Esp when we needed a stop the most. Denver went right down the field and scored a TD. We aernt a good team, maybe average, but not even good. Blackmon was in good position on the duck ball TD, but just di...

Re: Vikings at Broncos

Ty Chandler — 14 touches, 110 yards from scrimmage, 0 fumbles. Put. The. Man. In. I thought him and Mattison complemented each other well. I agree Mattison needs to be the second option. Demoted, basically. But I don't know that I want Chandler as a "every down" guy. I love how hard Matti...
