Re: Vikings Roster Review
Griffen is a prime candidate to restructure. He wants to stay here and has said so. Reiff is likely a cap casualty. I wouldn't write off the CB yet. Hughes has been on IR twice in his short career. As we saw this post season availability is an important ability in the Defensive Secondary. That is a ...

Re: Edwards out as Defensive Coordinator
They need an OC that can coax more out of Cousins and better develop the passing attack at the short and intermediate level. More creativity in game planning and play design also a positive. Also, some design that helps the OL. Above, all they need someone who can be an asset in the 4Q not a liabili...

Re: Moves the Vikings should make for 2020
Is there any way they can restructure Cousin's contract? I think they are just stuck with it until a year from March.
I'm starting to think they till take a flier draft pick on a QB day 1 or day 2. If they hit it extends the window.

Re: Edwards out as Defensive Coordinator
I wonder if Zimmer might hang 'em up soon. I'm wondering that also. I think they face a significant rebuild in 1-3 seasons unless they hit on a young QB pick. (It won't shock me to see a QB pick early this year for precisely this reason.) The weight of the contracts on the salary cap all point in t...

Re: Edwards out as Defensive Coordinator
Not sure I agree PHP. I think if they hire someone it is to be in charge, but with an expectation of collaboration with Kubiak's existing structure. Let's be honest here, the zone scheme was effective. The stuff with the screens, RB passes, bootlegs, and playaction all worked well. It would be fool...

Re: Moves the Vikings should make for 2020
Here is my view: OC/DC hires are a big deal. DC maybe less so depending on how much Zimm wants to wear that hat. (BB wears it just fine, so this isn't unprecedented.) Lots of coaches do the play calling for one side of the ball these days, so this isn't a bad thing. OC hire probably biggest move in ...

Re: Browns plan to hire Stefanski
For me the big thing I'm paying attend to is the quality of the hires for the coordinator positions. Here is why: The cap situation we are in is ugly. We are likely to lose players. We might get some back if they are willing to sign team friendly deals (Griffen might be a candidate here.) but I dou...

Re: 49ers Post Game
Here is my post game: IMO the biggest cuplrit was whomever came up with our offensive game plan and then failed to make any changes when it was obviously a disaster. 49ers benched Witherspoon and then we had no answer for 3 quarters. That is just ridiculous. I know guys are hammering the OL and all ...

Re: Divisional Round: Vikings/49ers Pre-Game Thread
So here is what I have learned two days of speaking to 49ers fans. 1. They are highly convinced that we can't win. 2. They think Zimmer is overrated 3. They Think Jimmy G is elite 4. Their WRs and Kyle scheming will be trouble for us 5. Their defense is finally healthy and they will unleash the 4 h...

Re: Divisional Round: Vikings/49ers Pre-Game Thread
My biggest fear right now is the fact this is a Saturday Game on the west coast. Shortened week and big travel. Never good.

Re: Divisional Round: Vikings/49ers Pre-Game Thread
At first glace here are my takes: Defense: I think Zimmer overall will own Garrapolo. The question is Shanahan. Shanahan is probably the best signal caller in the league and that offsets some of the talent deficiencies at QB. RB and WR are not scary from a matchup standpoint, it is more Shanahan's a...

Re: Vikings/Saints Post-Game
Instead of a celebration of victory it seems this thread is increasingly focused on resentment about the media and the Saints. The Vikings won the game. Who cares if the media didn't think they could do it? They were a 6th seeded team going on the road against a 13-3 team with an excellent home pla...
