Re: 2017 Vikings Free Agency Thread (Discussion Thread)

Thielen signed a 3 year deal with 11M guaranteed. Thats not too much money if he continues to be a number two wideout. Im a little worried we may be overvaluing him based on that Green Bay game. But hes a hard worker and has improved constantly since coming into the league. Those are the types of g...

Re: 2017 Vikings Free Agency Thread (Discussion Thread)

So they dont want to take a chance on ex Packer, Lacy, but sign a bust like ex Packer Datone Jones??? And now they are talking to Murry for RB? The guy cant catch, and is probably half of AD's speed and initial burst (and no, I dont want AD back). This is the type of signings and cuts Rick does. I ...

Take off the purple goggles you're wearing over your purple glasses for a minute and maybe you will. Just think , for Pete's sake. You literally wrote the following earlier in this same thread: Now you expect us to believe you're genuinely puzzled because people aren't thrilled about the signings o...

Re: 2017 Vikings Free Agency Thread (Discussion Thread)

I don't understand what in the hell we are doing this offseason. We couldn't pay Cordarrelle 5 million? Really? Come the #### on. We signed a 1st round BUST for 3.75 million though in Datone Jones? WTF. We have lost a lot of talent and won't replace a majority of it. I know that my fan allegiance i...

Re: 2017 Vikings Free Agency Thread (Discussion Thread)

I think losing CP84 is going to sting us the most. I get not wanting to pay him WR money, but last year it seemed like every time he was near the football he made something positive happen. They are going to miss that and probably miss it a lot. Locke had a great season as well, plus he was the hol...

I'm sure Childress thinks he would.

I really don't want any part of that egomaniac again. Too divisive and bull-headed.

Re: Toxic Leadership

Spielman isn't good at this job. (Which has been clear since he was hired.) And Zimmer is an old school hard headed rub some dirt on it coach who should probably be a defensive coordinator. (or a head coach with a clear focus on defense and not much more..which is what it seemed like he has been) I...

Re: 2017 Vikings Free Agency Signings Thread

We are the dumbest team in the league. We have a checkdown QB and the only player on the team that can actually turn a 3rd and 9, 2 yard checkdown in to a first down, we let go. I'd like to be more colorful with my language regarding how I feel about this insipid move by the Vikings, but I'll resis...

Re: 2017 Vikings Free Agency Signings Thread

Again, he is the only offensive player who consistently made plays last year (well Thielen I guess). McKinnon was hurt, Diggs was hurt, and I think he is an important piece to the Vikings puzzle. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk Patterson is now a Raider. I wish CP the best. Way to go, Vikings....

Re: 2017 Vikings Free Agency Thread (Discussion Thread)

Lacy, McKinnon, Rookie RB group would be a-okay with me though. It would be okay but not great. But if the Vikings get the job done on improving the entire offensive line (not just one or two positions), re-sign both Thielen and Patterson, and fit the scheme around the players, then the RB group mi...

Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson wants to return, open to pay

I think several playoff teams from last season might make logical landing spots for him if the Vikings don't re-sign him: the Broncos, Giants, Raiders and Packers. The Seahawks might be interested too and Tampa Bay just missed the playoffs but they have the cap room and could be another potential s...

Re: Trade Sharif Floyd?

My thing with Floyd, and I've said this before, is that he's good when healthy. Rudy was the same way and guys wanted to give up on him but you never hear anything like that now. I don't think we should trade him to be honest. He's the type of guy that could make an impact for another team if were ...

Re: Shurmur: Offseason will be critical for Laquon Treadwell

First, I don't think Patterson would be a good punt returner. Yes, the NFL has been making a lot of rumblings about getting rid of the kick return and they did reduce the relevance of the KR by moving the mark up. The whole rational for that was 'player safety' and wanted to reduce the number of ki...

Re: Shurmur: Offseason will be critical for Laquon Treadwell

The problem is, its just not that big a part of the game today, and there is a good likelihood that there won't even be any kicks to return before Patterson's next contract is up. I think any contract you negotiate with Patterson has to assume that the kick return will be eliminated from the NFL, a...

Re: Michael Vick says Vikings dropped ball not signing him

If I was the GM, I wouldn't have signed Vick if he was the last QB on the planet. And not just because of his disgusting dog business. Vick was a heartbreaker. He was always good enough for some cool highlight reels during the season, which made one think he was going to be a stud, but he couldn't f...
