Re: Vikings trade for Vedvik
That's what I thought. How many holders we using? 6? I heard that Bailey was 6-6 on FGs in practice today. Wonder if it was Vedvik holding. Vedvik was long snapping. Let's be positive there's no need to worry and the LS/Holder combination. That can be cleared up right before opening day kickoff. Th...

Re: Treadwell trade?
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-vikings-laquon-treadwell-available-210216280.html I can't believe there will be many teams looking to give a 5th, as the writer suggests. But you never know. It would have to be a team who needs a WR who thinks they are close to competing. I highly doubt the Gian...

Re: Vikings vs. New Orleans (preseason) ... thoughts
As you said, this means NOTHING going forward. It's my observation from one meaningless preseason game. And if we lay an egg against Seattle, I'll probably be back on double doses of Xanax. One thing I thought I'd mention to put my original response in context is that for me, the Vikings offense la...

Re: Vikings trade for Vedvik
Wasn't Wile one of the few legitimate bright spots for the team last season? He helped tilt field position a few times , including against the Bears in the last game. I could be wrong but I thought he did quote well. You are correct. However, if cutting a good punter means you have a good option at...

Re: Vikings vs. New Orleans (preseason) ... thoughts
Holton Hill looked lost. Benwikere was awful.
Really other than that, I thought they looked good for the first preseason game. All of the QBs led scoring drives, Bailey made all of his kicks, and the OL looked OK.

Re: Treadwell trade?
Dailynorseman seems to think Treadwell won’t make it. They project the Vikings keeping 5 with Taylor and Badet taking the last two spots. Both Zylstra and Treadwell cut. In their place, an extra TE spot. The extra TE makes sense with who they have. They've got 4 decent to good ones, and Smith could...

Re: Thielen or Beebe to ... hold for field goals?
I don't think it's much of a stretch to say that a holder makes a difference. As much as I didn't like Kleuwe, he was a good holder.
I am certain Wile will be the holder. I would like to see them stick with one for a few years.

Re: Trent Williams to be traded
Really, all of our players except for Barr were signed well ahead of time.StumpHunter wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 7:47 pm This type of situation right here is why the Vikings signed Theilen to an extension two years before they needed too.

Re: Treadwell trade?
Treadwell has no trade value. Zero. Unfortunately his dead hit of $2.5 million makes him tough to cut, especially given our tight cap situation. Yeah, but the way I look at it is the contract is dead weight either way. If they keep him on the roster and he doesn't start they pay it, and if they cut...

Re: I need....some optimism
Just to add to this a bit, look at a team like GB: They hired a young new coach. They have no idea how well ANY of it is going to work. What if that new HC doesn't get along with Rogers? For that matter look at other teams who decided the chase the Sean McVay trend and hire the young unknown. They ...

Re: Holton HIll Suspended Again
I truly don't understand how things work in the NFL. Adrian Peterson spanks his son with a switch -- suspended for an entire season. Justified. Holton Hill smokes weed (legal in 11 states and Washington D.C.) -- suspended four games. Justified (I guess ... it's a rule in the NFL). Tyreek Hill break...
