Re: Latest on Kirk’s decision to leave Minnesota

The only playoff win he ever had it was a road dog win and as usual Zim's D didn't feel like playing . That's only one example and there are others. After watching us pass on Rodgers twice during that draft and drafting nothing I think the Falcons made a smart move. If he was the top player on thei...

Re: Latest on Kirk’s decision to leave Minnesota

The entire thing is the very definition of irony. Look, I feel bad about what happened to him last year. He was playing elite football, and the Achilles injury was the kind of thing you don’t wish on your worst enemy. But I don’t feel one bit sorry for Kirk overall. He’s had a long career in the NF...

Re: Latest on Kirk’s decision to leave Minnesota

I’m over Kirk. Maybe its just me, but it was a pretty easy breakup. I thought KAM would cut ties with Kirk and start looking for his franchise QB when he first took the GM job with the Vikings. That was when there was a natural break in the contract situation IIRC and would have been the best time ...

Re: Latest on Kirk’s decision to leave Minnesota

I'm not really sure what Kirk's feelings are. Atlanta seems like an ideal fit especially considering his wife is from there. The odds makers seem to favor Atl more than us to make the playoffs. I will assume divisional competition plays into that. Many here write off the Packers but they do have so...

Re: Latest on Kirk’s decision to leave Minnesota

Atlanta GM said they drafted Penix to make sure they were stable at the most important position. They are set for 5 years. Yes drafting a D player should help but if Kirk goes down the season would be over. Now they have 1 of the 6 superstars to plug in. QBs are to valuable to say no thanks. Any pl...

Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

Here's KOC breaking down JJ. In the first minute he says JJ was a player I identified as a QBOTF to build around. Yeah he probably preferred Maye, but I believe he is not lying and he's thrilled to have JJ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73RiZnqJe0Y&t=21s There's nothing wrong with JJM. I thin...

Re: The Official Dallas Turner thread

I was thinking a comparison is Micah Parsons, hopefully? About the same size and same position. BTW, position now informally known as edge rusher, seems relatively new to call a player that, not an official designation, any of you football scholars know when that came along? I did some research and...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

I can't believe Pratt went to the Puke in the 7th round. It pisses me off also. :soap Odds of Pratt ever seeing the field in a Packer jersey are very poor. It would only happen if Love gets hurt. Odds of Pratt turning into a competent QB if he does see the field are also very poor. 7th round QBs pa...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

Jones was never considered to have much of a ceiling which is why he was picked at 15 and if the Pats didn't jump who knows how far down he would have fallen. They rolled the dice. JJM is a much better prospect. Jones only had one season and JJM 2 in college. JJM can avoid pressure while Jones is a...

I know this is post-draft and not draft day, but since it's slow and this thread is active I thought I'd post this here: https://walterfootball.com/nfldraftgradesteam.php Someone did NOT like the Vikings draft. Re: Draft Day Discussion

A QB I liked was M Pratt who the Packers selected in round 7. That appears to be a fall in the lap pick. He was projected round 4-5. Milton went to the Pats round 6 and already the experts are saying position change to TE. Milton said that's the 1st he heard of it. Another I liked is Mark Gronowski....

Re: Draft Day Discussion

This is a cool name for a football player QB Rocky Lombardi. It don't get more American, hero, underdog than that. Bengals signed him as a UDFA. I thought Penix had a lifetime college career which of course he did. Rocky was 7 year college vet.

Re: Draft Day Discussion

With their second pick of the afternoon, Minnesota used their first of two selections in the sixth round on former Oklahoma offensive tackle Walter Rouse. Walter Rouse enters the NFL draft with upside as a potential interior offensive lineman, underscored by his significant collegiate starts and po...

Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

I wanted Maye. Pretty sure KOC did too, but settled for JJ since the price was too high. Sure hope they bench JJ for at least a year, make sure he is ready for 2025. KAM didnt have to trade up for it either. Turner is a beat thats one injury away from a bust. He better bulk up a bit. Very slow draf...
