Re: Vikings listening to trade offers on Hunter

I remember hearing these same conversations last year when the Vikings actually kept everyone and added pieces to the defense rather than subtracting at every level. Yes the NFC is top heavy, but that doesn't matter when you can't even get past a team like the Giants in the playoffs. As bad as the ...

Re: Dalvin Cook's Future

If Dalvin was going to get a good offer he would have had it already. Seems like he's going to have to swallow his pride and accept whatever he can get. He has gotten multiple offers and is leveraging those offers against each other I am sure. The Vikings screwed him by cutting him when every team ...

Re: Vikings listening to trade offers on Hunter

The Vikings took two strengths of the team and made them both weakness for salary cap space, presumably to help them in future seasons assuming they don't make a big trade and use the cap to pay who they trade for(there isn't a current FA available who could help this team significantly, aside from...

Re: Dalvin Cook Future

For what it's worth, Kirk wants him back on the Vikings. We've already released him and we are already on the hook for his dead cap right? What would it take to bring him back in a new contract? You look around the NFL and the Vikings are the only team that isn't a bottom feeder that needs a RB. Th...

Wow, lol. A few of you have been hitting the purple koolaid a bit hard. Re: Vikings want Levis ?

You sound like John Elway with his love of tall QBs. I'm not sure what Elway likes. He signed one of our greats Keenum which ended his career. Looks like he likes smaller guys with a limited arm. McKee don't fit. In the end McKee isn't a great prospect and has very little chance of becoming a good ...

Re: Is Rodgers done in Green Bay?

I wanted Love in the 2020 draft but instead the Vikings traded back and wasted their 1st round pick on a corner. Not sure what kind of QB Love will be, but he at the very least enabled the Packers to move on from Rodgers and his brutal contract. Time will tell whether that is a good thing or a bad t...

Re: Vikings want Levis ?

The cost to move up to where some of the mocks have the Vikings moving would be prohibitive. Far more likely KAM moves down and tries to get an extra pick in the 3rd. He can use that on a Hooker or McKee if he's really set on getting a QB this year. I think McKee is the guy they will take. Many tea...

I think a Van Ness level edge rusher will be there at 23 and you would be trading your only exceptional defender for a guy who more than likely never comes close to Hunter's level.

Re: Lamar Jackson

Didn’t KJ drop a catchable pass on 3rd down that would have been good for a first? He doesn’t take any heat. Kirk has even come out and said he made a poor throw on that 3rd down. I actually just rewatched that play and it was even worse than I remembered live. Osborn was wide open and Kirk just th...

Re: Danielle Hunter won’t attend Vikings voluntary offseason program

Looking at the splits by age of edge rushers since sacks have been tracked: Age: Number of edge rushers at that age with 10+ sacks Age 26: 96 Age 27: 106 Age 28: 97 Age 29: 81 Age 30: 69 Age 31: 47 Age 32: 36 Age 33: 21 Historically, it would be unwise for the Vikings to give an extension that guar...

Re: Danielle Hunter won’t attend Vikings voluntary offseason program

A reasonable contract extension for Hunter would be something similar but more than Chubb, who has never come close to being as good as Hunter, and who has had a lot more injury riddled throughout his career, but who is younger. Hunter will want more than Chubb, the Vikings will want a shorter deal ...

Re: Danielle Hunter won’t attend Vikings voluntary offseason program

Thanks makila. That article helps (although I admit, it's still very confusing with all the shifts in the amounts due to void years and other bonuses). Bottom line seems to be if the Vikings want to keep Hunter they are going to have to extend him and pay him around $20 million per year. He's 29, s...

Re: Danielle Hunter won’t attend Vikings voluntary offseason program

The guy is making 5 million this year while Bradley Chubb is getting 22 million per year. He knows that if the shoe were on the other foot, and he was playing like a 5 million dollar DE while getting paid 20 million, the team wouldn't hesitate to cut him. Don't blame him for not going to these progr...
