Re: 2017 Season General Comments (pressers, practice notes,

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere but I guess we just about snuck it into the 2017 season : According to his agent, the Minnesota Vikings have signed offensive lineman Josh Andrews off the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad. Andrews signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon...

Re: New OC Thread

Just seen an interesting comment from Adam Schefter: Vikings would like to talk with Eagles' QB coach John DeFilippo about their OC job but cannot do so until 10 days after Philadelphia's season ends, which would be Feb 14, per league source. Right now Vikings appear willing to wait It looks like it...

Re: Next years QB

In that scenario you're basically putting $30M into your QBs, may as well give Cousins or Brees $30M in that situation. the difference though is that it is for one year - the year we have an abundance of cap space. No way Cousins signs a team friendly easy to get out of deal after 1 year (or Brees)...

Re: Next years QB

Vikes have a ton of cap space this year coming up and a ton of big contracts the year after...so some sort of tag for Keenum makes sense to give him another year to prove it wasn't a fluke along with a deal for Bridgewater (i'd expect $7-8m a year for a couple of years) while we have the luxury of c...

Re: Next years QB

he doesn’t win.In those three seasons the Skins were 9-7, 8-7-1, and 7-9. Well the yardage is so high because the defence ship so many points...which is also why his wins aren't that great. Look at last season, 7 of those 9 loses involved conceding 30+ points. There isn't a lot a QB can do against ...

Re: 2018 Offseason Thread

McKinnon is as good as gone. He said so yesterday. He sees himself as a feature back, and he's looking for somebody to give him that opportunity. No matter what, I guarantee you he won't accept being the third RB behind Cook and Murray. Who's going to be under centre for the wildcat?! Seriously i'm...

Re: 2018 Offseason Thread

We will be loaded here going into next year getting Cook back. Murray is an excellent backup option that can contribute. McKinnon is set to be a FA. I'd love to have him back but it will be a tough sell when we have both Cook and Murray under contract. I'd be hoping to keep all 3 - RBs especially n...

Re: Rhodes got burned

Definitely Newman on the second TD - if memory serves think Rhodes was off the field at the time. First he lost his head after the Sendejo hit.. as others have mentioned though Brees went to his no.1 weapon three times in a row when he needed him and Rhodes (with a bit of help from Smith admittedly)...

Re: Are you looking past the Eagles this week?

they're the number 1 seed playing at home...I make it a coin toss game at best. I'm expecting it to be a tight, defence led game..it may well come down to which kicker is on it on the day

Re: Divisional Round: Vikings vs Saints Pre-Game Discussion

my biggest concern is still Forbath funnily enough. Kickers are key this late in the season and I think there's still a big question mark over him. Gano missed that 25 yarder early on yesterday, if he made that Panthers are only 2 behind on that last drive with less pressure and a relatively short 3...

Re: Packers

This Bengals game is key for that. Need to win this one at home against a team that were terrible last week. That will wrap up the division for us and guarantee the playoffs. Then the Packers are at Carolina, that's a tough proposition for them and Rodgers first game back..i'd still make Carolina fa...

Re: Week 2 reaction thread

so i asked on the 'bradford knee' thread....if bradford is really hurt and looks to miss significant time.....do you sign kaepernick The question is what will that achieve? If Bradford is out significantly this season he is not a long-term (or even short-term) solution at QB. Bridgewater is just qu...

Re: 2017 Training Camp Updates

For me I think the chances of improving against last season will largely come down to this: Cornerback Mackensie Alexander struggled to cover corner routes on Tuesday. He lost by a step to Isaac Fruetche and was unable to get his hands into the passing lane to break up a throw intended for wide rece...
