Re: Doomed by a magical season

there is something different about this season. 1998 and 2009 were great seasons, but both were built on things that couldn't be sustained. as good as this season has been there really hasn't been an area of greatness on either side of the ball. we have just had really good solid play from every asp...

Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson wants to return, open to pay

The truth is he a competent passable LT in a league that doesn't have many, regardless of the whipping boy status he has developed for the fan base stats are stats and his aren't bad. from 2013-2015 pff had kalil graded out as one of the worst left tackles in the league. i get that he didn't miss a...

Re: Offensive staff has almost completely turned over in a y

Keep in mind that Clancy Barone was the offensive line coach for the Bronco's. Are they putting pressure on Sparano saying you better perform because we got your replacement in the waiting. It sounds like Barone was liked in Denver. don't think so. what is sparano supposed to do, coach harder?

Re: Treadwell hopes to make rookie season a distant memory

Showing up to that press conference wearing a raiders cap raised a few alarms, and that awful bowl game performance last year. The guy is also not wowing anyone during practice, apparently. All signs of immaturity. But who knows, I hope it doesn't come down to a contract year before the kids wants ...

Re: Treadwell hopes to make rookie season a distant memory

I'm not giddy over anyone on the Vikings right now but I sure do like the Patterson's playmaking abilities. Patterson is dangerous with the ball in his hands and to me that's something the Vikings can always use. He's the best kick returner in the league, yes, but also a good punt gunner and a good...

Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson wants to return, open to pay

might get ripped for this one, but i'd be fine with cutting peterson and signing eddie lacy. he's the perfect back to pair with mckinnon, or with a rookie smaller type back

Re: Film Room: Minnesota Vikings (Football Outsiders)

That was a great read. I wondered for years why Zimmer wasn't a hc. He is doing wonders with the defense and it is most pleasing to see. As the season progresses these guys are only going to get better and gel more as a unit. If the O-line issues are resolved even to an average level Bradford is go...

Re: Laquon Treadwell win't play until he practices better

doesn't sound like it's a matter of attitude or effort. treadwell is 21 and still learning. i'm not sure when it became the norm for rookie wrs to start out playing, but it's been pretty common place for young wrs to take a little longer than most positions.

Re: peterson/bridgewater era is over

brees is actually a good example. he had a career threatening shoulder injury then signed when the saints. he had 24 tds, but was hardly a sure thing much like teddy. my point is don't wait until teddy walks and we get nothing. if bradford cements himself then trade teddy while you can.

Re: peterson/bridgewater era is over

No QB has ever come back from this injury. You think even cleveland is going to drop 10-18m a year on a Player coming off that with no game tape beyond a 14TD season? What has he done to merit elite money? Ever? Since when do QBs get huge deals based solely on finishing their rookie deal? :confused...

Re: Biggest questions heading into next year

it's obvious that just throwing money at our o line isn't going to fix it. we have the highest o line payroll in the league after having the 2nd highest last season. what boggles my mind is that guys like osemele, mack and mitchell schwartz were deemed to be too expensive, but paying guys like kalil...

Re: peterson/bridgewater era is over

Could they really get much for him? Unless they pick up his 5th year option in May, his rookie deal only runs through next season. good question. the rams were able to get foles and a 2nd rd pick for bradford after his last knee injury. i would think a 3rd round pick and maybe a player(o lineman) w...
