Re: Great Article on the '98 Vikings

Is the argument that Moss could have been better and if he had been the team would have won? For a rookie WR in the NFL? Probably not. Whatever he was doing as a receiver in 1998 is the best *any* receiver has ever done as a rookie in the NFL. Plus, the defense gave up 30 points and he's got nothin...

Re: Great Article on the '98 Vikings

You very well may be right about his overall career but I don't think you are about the 1998 team. It obviously wasn't a problem that year. That really doesn't follow. That team was incredibly talented. Yes, they were historically effective, and Moss is almost certainly the most talented WR ever, b...

Re: Great Article on the '98 Vikings

I don't think so. Moss caught a TD in that game and the offense put up 27 before Green went into a shell content to run the clock. We all know how that turned out. Don't forget about the rest of his career. I wouldn't even concede your point about that game. One more play might have been the differ...

Re: Anthony Barr on contract: It’s on Vikings and I’d like to get it done

The expert opinion seems to be that Barr is being overpaid this season at $12MM+ due to his fifth year option. If this is the case, why would Barr extend now given that he can collect a big contract and then hit free agency? Most early extensions provide the player more now and give the team more y...

Re: Great Article on the '98 Vikings

Brad Johnson: I remember the game-planning meetings where the coaches would stand up and talk about who the middle linebacker was and who the SAM linebacker was on the other team, and the twists they would run. Then the wide receivers coach, his name was Hubbard Alexander, legendary coach, would ge...

Re: Vikings Agree to Terms with Danielle Hunter on Contract Extension

Everybody is going to have to pay their Kirk Cousins tax if they want to keep this team together. Take a little less, be willing to re-negotiate...And Kirk is gonna have to take everybody to the steak house more than once. Hopefully he has the leadership skills to know that re-negotiation is going t...

Re: Anthony Barr on contract: It’s on Vikings and I’d like to get it done

Vikings have a little over 12 left after Hughes and Hunters deal. If they don't sign anyone (barring injury during the season). They can roll over and have about 28 million in cap next season. That will be enough to get both deals done unless one of those guys want top flight money. If Diggs demand...

Re: Vikings Draft Picks

I was going to mention the same thing, he definitely extended plays that looked like they were going to end. Also Berger was our top graded lineman (I believe) so it's a big hole to fill. If Berger was the best player on the OL last year, that is certainly a backhanded compliment. Berger, at his be...

Re: Vikings Draft Picks

I mean last year, we were middle of the pack in QB hits given up. We were tied for 7th in sacks given up. Nobody on our OL gave up more than 4 sacks. Are pass protection was far from bad last year. It wasnt "great" but it was much better than any of us ever thought it would be. We drafted an excell...

Re: 2018 Season General Thread (News, Notes, Interviews, etc)

I hope they aren't interested in Incognito. I'd prefer a trade for someone else they have identified or roll the dice on a player like Jahri Evans if they aren't happy with the in-house options.

Re: Vikings Draft Picks

I have been very down on Isadora based on his game against Cleveland. To be fair, I should point out that he played much better against Carolina. I just watched that game again and was pleasantly surprised to see him looking a whole lot better in that game.

Re: Cornerbacks, Salary Cap, and more

A lot of noise about Diggs being the odd man out among Vikings fans. Its hard for me to see them letting him go. I would gladly sacrifice Waynes and Rudolph to get Diggs locked in.

Re: Dalvin Cook breakdown and expectations

After G, I think RB is our biggest question mark. It remains to be seen what we have in Cook, Murray is a 3rd string quality back. If we don't find a 3rd back capable of surpassing Murray, and Cook isn't all the way back, that's going to hurt this team's chances.
