Re: Mounting losses up front could become a "real problem"
One thing I've noticed lately is that there an awful lot of teams that are having OL problems. It could be a combination of a weaker than average OL talent pool, combined with defenses that have gotten creative. Whatever the cause, it seems like NFL defenses are making NFL offensive lines look bad o...

Re: Jake Long
Obviously Long is a complete wildcard at this point. It's pretty clear that the bye came at just the right time. I'm hoping that Sporano can get them ready to play with two weeks preparation.

Re: Mounting losses up front could become a "real problem"
It's a shame that there aren't more player for player trades in the NFL. It would be sweet if we could trade a defensive piece for a LT. I mean, if someone offered us a good starting LT for, say, Rhodes or Barr, we would at least have to think about it right, based on having some depth on D?

Re: Mounting losses up front could become a "real problem"
The losses hurt but the line stunk before most of them and the choices the team made in the offseason exacerbated the problem. They were ill-prepared to lose their starting QB and they were ill-prepared along the offensive line. I'm sure someone will defend them but it sure looks to me like they we...

Re: Mounting losses up front could become a "real problem"
I'm normally not a fan of signing expensive free agents, but the Vikings are likely going to be SB contenders next year, and teams like that can afford to overpay for FAs. I really hope we are able to make a run at some OLs in FA.

What is Teddy Bridgewater's future?
I'm as big a fan of Teddy as anyone, but it looks clear at this point that, barring injury, Sam Bradford will be our starting QB next year. What do we do with Teddy? Do we keep him, since he doesn't have a big contract? We would then have almost certainly the best backup in the league, at a low pric...

Re: Five-Thirty-Eight: The Vikings Are In For A Rude Awakeni
I have a lot of respect for 538, and I think they do a great job with both sports and politics. That being said, there are two sides to the Vikings coin. Sure, we won't get 1 D/ST TD every game, but on the other hand, I expect our offense to improve a lot, to make up for the 'regression to the mean'...

Re: Vikings @ Panthers Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 3
It feels like I see it here all the time. It's nice but how are we going to feel if/when they're down by 12 with 7 minutes left? I understand the enthusiasm. Maybe I've just seen too much. I've seen Vikings teams with terrific defense but not enough offense. I've seen Buddy Ryan's Eagles and Tony D...

Re: Vikings @ Panthers Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 3
Since Charles Johnson isn't getting the ball anyway, shouldn't we have Treadwell out there instead? Obviously Rudolph and Diggs are playing well, and throwing to them has been a good idea, but at some point we are going to need to get more receivers involved.

Re: Vikings draft CB Mackenzie Alexander
I think this pick makes people nervous because of what it says about Trae Waynes. Sure, teams need 3 CBs these days, but if we really felt we had 2 solid starters already on the roster, I don't think we would have gone CB this early. Hopefully Waynes develops and we have 3 solid CBs, but this move w...

Re: Vikings draft CB Mackenzie Alexander
totally idiotic pick. i love zimmer, but a times i wonder if he actually realizes you need an offense as well as a defense. we could have at least went with a safety with this pick if he was so hard set on going defensive. it seems like he had to be conned into taking a receiver in the first round....

Re: Vikings draft CB Mackenzie Alexander
Good teams take the best player available, even if it isn't their biggest need. CB clearly wasn't our biggest need, but I'm confidant we got the best player on our board. As for need, Newman is old, and Waynes in unproven. Maybe Captain moves on next year and Mac becomes our slot corner.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft thread
I don't understand the Xs and Os of football all that well, so can someone tell me if this is feasible? We need a LB, but we already have two good, young LBs, and there just isn't a huge need for a 3rd good LB since teams pay so much nickle/dime. We also need a safety, since Michael Griffin is unlik...

Re: Will the first round pick be a defensive player...
I am of the opinion that if the BPA is a defensive lineman, it is never a bad pick to take them. That is a position that can be rotated, so it's not like Billings, or whoever, would have to sit a whole year. I doubt any roster in the NFL has too many talented D-linemen. The Detroit Lions had the cha...
