Re: NFL Top 100 of 2017

I don't miss Jordy's Ghost all that much, but I do wish he were here during this one instance, just so I could rub it in. During the second half of the 2016 season, I made the comment on this board that Adam Thielen reminded me of Jordy Nelson. About the same size, same build, runs routes in a simi...

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2017

It's nice to have such a strong nucleus. There's a couple more guys I could see having a good shot at cracking that list if they can stay healthy (Hunter and Cook for example). And that's basically the key for this year, how healthy can this team be because we've been snake bitten by the injury bug...

NFL Top 100 of 2017

Pretty quiet on here as of late since there isnt a whole lot going on. However, we do have quite a few players landing in the top 100. #94- Kirk Cousins (for Washington)- Good to see our new QB on there. However, I dont agree with guys like Garoppolo and Carr being voted well ahead of him. Jimmy G i...

Re: If we have to lose a young core player?

I don't disagree with you that he is a talented player who I'd like to keep, but I'm just worried if they give him a large pay day there may not be money to go around to players who I think have a higher ceiling of making an impact on the team or who play positions that have a higher price tag like...

Re: 2018 Vikings Free Agency Thread

I dont know why I feel this way but I feel like Spielman made a mistake right there not trying to unload Barr via trade and signing Kendricks. I'm starting to worry that Barr is going to take precedence over someone like Diggs or Hunter (or even Richardson) and if that's the case, I'm gonna be ticke...

Re: Viking Tweets

Just my two cents: I love the tweet bot and news bot additions. It is nice to have all the information in one place without having to go searching for it. But (there’s always a but, right?) I prefer them to be in their own section like you did with the tweets as opposed to mixed in with the general...

Re: 2018 Vikings Free Agency Thread

My guess is Zimmer would disagree with you. I think you're underestimating how important Barr is to this defense. You could argue that 2017 was his best year yet. Also, Kendricks was basically a 2 down LB in Philly. I have to believe Barr is better at coverage than Kendricks which would weaken this...

Re: 2018 Vikings Free Agency Thread

Didnt they play 3 LBs more prior to last season? I assumed Gedeon didn't play much mostly because lack of experience and because he wasn't as good. I know it's been noted before than a WLB plays limited snaps in Zims D. Greenway had more snaps in 2016 than Gedeon did in 2017. However, Greenway stil...

Re: 2018 Vikings Free Agency Thread

Sign MK. Keep Barr this year. Make a great defense better. Period. I’m not totally against that option but at the same time, they both play the same positions. I initially thought Kendricks would just start over Gedeon but by the sounds of it, the reason he wanted out of Philly was due to lack of t...

Re: 2018 Vikings Free Agency Thread

In the interest of getting better now, without spending any more, I would add a 5th option to your list; Sign MK to a 15M/3 year deal that he should take if he is replacing Barr and going to play. Then trade Barr for a quality young guard and a mid-rounder. We get the guard we need now, set at LB w...

Re: Updating the Traveling/Game Attending Advice

For lodging we stayed at the Radisson Blue last year. It's right downtown towards Target Field. Not too bad of a walk to the stadium and you're around everything. The FireLake Grill is built into the hotel. They say its the "coldest beer in Minneapolis"

Re: Updating the Traveling/Game Attending Advice

Excellent thread though. I'm always looking for other stuff to do when I go every year. I'm either going to week 3 vs. Buffalo or waiting until later in the year so I can catch the Vikes, Wild and T'Wolves all on the same weekend. Which would end up being my bachelor party weekend. Havent decided if...

Re: Updating the Traveling/Game Attending Advice

One amazing restaurant is Fogo de Chao. It's down by Target Field. It's a Brazilian steakhouse. Everyone at the table gets a button. One side red, one side green. When you want to be served, flip it to green and servers flock to you with every meat you could ever imagine and slice it right there in ...

Re: 2018 Vikings Free Agency Thread

The other consideration is the cap isn't a use it or lose it situation. You can roll money forward to the following year, which is what the Vikings do quite often. Using it all up takes away some of the flexibility that has put them in decent cap space right now and also doesn't really allow for an...
