Re: If any of these playoff games comes down to Kirk Cousins on a game winning drive can he do it?

I mentioned in another recent thread that I have been watching the Vikings since game one in 1961 when I was ten years old. My dad was a huge Gophers fan and a fan of Van Brocklin so he insisted that I follow our new team with him. I think with the Vikings and all teams getting to the big dance dep...

Re: Post Bears Game discussion

I’m 45 and have been a fan since I was 10-12 years old. It’s family thing. I grew up watching the Vikes at Sunday dinner at my Grandma’s house, during and after dinner with my entire extended family. My earliest memories are AC, DJ Dozer, Millard, jordan, Kramer, Wilson, etc.... As of today, I’m swe...

Re: Vikings trade for Vedvik

It'd be a giant ostrich egg if the Vikes kept him on the team at this point only to rationalize their trade for him.

IMO, he needs to be cut after his performance last night.

Re: Why are refs so bad???

Without reading other responses to see if anybody else has mentioned... I don't think the refs are any worse now than they were 20-30 years ago. I just think the rules have gotten more complicated leading to more mistakes, and TV cameras/coverage has gotten so much better that none of the mistakes a...

Re: Poll: Your First Vikings Head Coach

I think I remember the 85 year with Bud Grant (I was 10 years old), but Jerry Burns was coach when I really started paying attention.

Re: FLIP HAS BEEN FIRED!!!

The problem I have with this is that we would be taking Zimmer out of the role in which he is exceptional and putting him solely in the managerial roles in which he is poor. I think Zimmer NEEDS an established OC that does not need baby sitting. Without this he cannot be an effective head coach. Fl...

Re: How much is Case Keenum worth?

If we're talking franchise tag money, I'd get on the phone with KC and see what their plans are for Alex Smith. They gave away the farm for Mahomes so Smith may not be in their future. I think like Keenum, Smith's struggles are a product of Andy Reid. In terms of skillset, I'd say Keenum and Smith ...

Re: How much is Case Keenum worth?

Yes, i'd like to date him for another year before buying the diamond too. But he's got sand in the guts and the kids love him. There's no way anyone can toss numbers around now, it's just too early. See how the next game or two goes. I disagree about your ceiling measurement. With Rams and in TX, h...

fiestavike wrote: Certainly a defensible position. Hypothetically, if Drew Brees or Kirk Cousins hit the open market, would you still be comfortable signing Keenum for 22.5 instead of using that money on Brees?
Yes. Keenum could be a long term solution, Brees would not be.

That's the estimated number for the franchise tag in 2018. If I were Spielman, I'd use the tag on Case.
Finally someone agrees with me. Thanks Kap! It's only one year, well worth it to make Keenum prove his worth one more year.

Re: How much is Case Keenum worth?

I think we should franchise him for a year, regardless of wins & losses from here on. I think that would put his salary ~$25million for one year (average of the top 5 QB salaries, right?). Then we'd get to see what Case is like without Shurmur for a year without long term commitment. If Shurmur ...

Agreed. However, I’m hoping Zim learned a lesson and it never happens again. Doubt it will against Foles next week, completely different animal from the vet Brees and the Aints.
