Re: A Football Life Series
They were a good team but I honestly I don't think they deserve a "Missing Rings" episode. They're one of many, many very good teams to reach a conference championship and fail to advance. They didn't have the kind of extraordinary season the '98 Vikes had and the Vikings had 3 teams in t...

Re: Former Minn mayor candidate trying to stop stadium bond
I was against the new lawsuit for reasons stated above. But your post here is well reasoned. There was a lot not to like about the stadium deal, this element and the pull-tabs funding mechanism at the state level come to mind. The Goodell steamroller did its job in providing corporate welfare to th...

Re: Former Minn mayor candidate trying to stop stadium bond
Just so you know, he's now trying to see if he can find a way to take it to federal court. Not entirely sure what that'll do (and frankly, he'll probably spend more time in court than it will take to build the stadium). Oh well. Here's his cry for help on the subject (P.S. he also listed his phone n...

Re: Jerry Gray
Well, sure, he coached a good secondary, doesn't mean he will do well for us. Haha We have Cook and Robinson who are liabilities. Titans have Verner, Griffin, McCourty, which is probably a better secondary than ours. But we will see. I like the fact that we are having a whole new staff, though. Coo...

Re: Is the NFL Real Sport or Simply Entertainment?
The NFL makes too much money as a whole to even consider rigging it. Sure, it may seem like it sometimes (like that Ravens/Vikings game this year), but there's zero chance that it's rigged in any fashion. Some people might say that the NFL might eventually hit a decline in popularity...but only one ...

There you go. So just leave it at that. Thanks.Funkytown wrote:
So, you loved Moss and Johnson, but Sherman is a "tool"? You're right, I will never understand. I enjoy(ed) watching them all.

Re: Richard Sherman postgame interview
Understandable. Some of us are okay with the occasional "in your face" guy in sports...and some aren't. That's why this Sherman discussion is what it is. We all have different preferences--and tolerance levels. That's where you're wrong. I LOVED Moss, and I loved watching Chad Johnson pla...

Re: Richard Sherman postgame interview
I understand some of your points, thatguy, and I actually agree with some of your thoughts, however, I think it's too easy to put blame on athletes, video games, society, etc. as far as why people act a certain way. At the end of the day, I think it comes down to good parenting and guidance for chi...

Wow...obvious statement is obvious by Florio. I would hope that every NFL team operates that way.Eli wrote:I loved Florio's opening comment before the interview. Doesn't sound like he has much faith in either Spielman or Zimmer. Or maybe he just figures it's a given in Minnesota.
Ya think?

Re: Richard Sherman postgame interview
 Is everyone a "tool" to you? If Sherman had called Crabtree a "tool" would you have been cool with that? Or is that something that he should be above after an emotional victory that is sending his team to the Super Bowl, when you rarely find yourself above it on VMB? C'mon...

Re: Richard Sherman postgame interview
Well said thatguy... I wish Sherman's apology had been a little better, but I'll at least give him some credit for apologizing (if only to his teammates). Absolutely. I still think Sherman is a tool (I've thought that long before this recent "incident"), but I can appreciate when someone ...

Re: Richard Sherman postgame interview
I know you were, Thatguy with his 'just sayin' comment was making an attempt at trash talking. It goes on all over. Esp. in sports, in bars, on the field, etc. And I still think Sherman has more class then JA shows. lol it's not trash talking. I was just pointing out a fact. If "Crabbaby"...

Re: Richard Sherman postgame interview
Yeah, there really is. Because Qb's only throw the ball his way a few times a game. Becauses he's the best there is. And he listens to little nothings like Crabbaby trash talk him all game. So he has lots and lots of time, and is qualified to back it up. The ways people stand-up for Richard Sherman...

There isn't enough time in a game for him to back up all the talking that he does.Purple Jesus wrote:Sherm is awesome! At least he can back his talk up.
