Re: Donatel needs the axe
I've been amazed at how people are trying to justify what in reality was an overly aggressive move by KOC in that last game. He seemed intent on being overly aggressive right from the get-go with that decision to go for it on 4th down on his side of the 50, which was another decision that had a ter...

Re: Donatel needs the axe
So strictly-speaking, there was no need to win the game outright - the Vikings just needed to not lose it. A tie would have been enough. For winning the Division that is true, for playoff seeding however, it might prove detrimental depending on how things play out. Obviously a tie is better than a ...

Re: Donatel needs the axe
Except that you're ignoring the fact that the Vikings have to attempt a two point conversion at some point regardless of when you do it ( in order to force the win ). If you do it when KOC did, then you still have the opportunity to try it again if it fails (assuming the aforementioned stop and sec...

Re: It’s time to credit the defense
If he had bobbled it WITHOUT the ball touching the ground, then the outcome would have been as you suggested. Sounds right. It initially looked like he was "bobbling it" through the catch but I wasn't sure it had touched the ground (since his hand appeared to be under the ball when the ba...

Re: It’s time to credit the defense
They could've easily not have overturned that TD on the Pats. Serious question: Did the receiver drop the ball during the reception attempt? It looked to me like he bobbled it and then re-established the possession short of the goal line. If that was the case, shouldn't it have been a reception (bu...

Re: Preseason Week 1 Post Game Thoughts
I could keep track of the score, but I couldn't get the game (even though it was broadcast on the NFL Network). Direct TV had showed it was blocked, but I don't live in either Minnesota's or Denver's market (I'm in the heart of Bear territory - a few hours from Chicago) so I'm not sure why it was bl...

Re: What is your minimum definition of success for the 2018-19 season?
I didn't see my option: Winning a Super Bowl with an undefeated season and the "closest" game is won by more than 16 points! No? OK. This is the NFL so one can't take things for granted, but I expect playoffs this year. I think they have to secure a first round bye. Look, I want the Viking...

Re: [Rumor] Kirk Cousins a Vikings for 27 million/year
Watched Cousins' press conference today, and I have to say ... I'm impressed with the man. Really impressed. This is a mature individual, obviously smart, extremely well-spoken. I love the fact that he didn't throw anyone under the bus from Washington, even though he could have. I also enjoyed how ...

Re: Biggest Need On The Team?
I say give Zimmer and his staff another year. Hmmmm.... I wonder if winning a Super Bowl for a coach in the first 4-5 years on a team has more to do with the possibility that a coach is fired in that time (just me speculating on a cause) frame if he doesn't attain a Super Bowl appearance within tho...

Re: Biggest Need On The Team?
Beyond player personnel, I think this postseason demonstrated the Vikings coaching still isn't at a Super Bowl level. I think that is a fair assessment. My question is - Do you think they (the coaching staff) have a chance to attain that level of performance? This is not a "Fire Zimmer!" ...

As a Cubs fan I have to say that I thought the Vikings would win a Super Bowl before I'd ever see the Cubbie's winning a World Series.

Re: All we ever do is talk about next year
I agreed with everything you posted, so forgive me if I ‘nitpick’ the one thing I question: Odds (from a probability/statistical standpoint) are that we may NEVER win the big one. Let that sink in. All things being equal (and I realize they almost never are - but stay with me), shouldn't we be expec...
