Re: Timberwolves
It's a second round pick in the NBA. The failure rate is astronomical, so really, who cares. If you want to fire him, do if for his past drafts, not this pick. I don't really follow basketball, and for all I know this kid will turn out to be great, but it just seems to me like a real bonehead move ...

it gets worse for the wolves http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Wolves-second-round-pick-lied-about-age-should-?urn=nba-wp5562 The second round of Thursday night's NBA draft was full of obscure players from foreign leagues, but no one selected has as unknown a profile as Tanguy Ngom...

Re: Timberwolves
No. Everything I've read about Rubio is that he's a distributor and that's it; guy can't shoot or play D or anything else. Just passing. The Wolves need more than an elite passer to turn into a contender. Plus, apparently he had a bad year in Spain. I know I can't be the only person who thinks Rubi...

Very nice. I got my first house just over a year ago now for 59,000. Houses are cheap down here in the South.

Having an hour long special to announce what team your going to? Having an "arrival" special with disco music, smoke, rising from the stage? Having "Chosen One" tattooed on your back? He's also got dozens of idiotic statements he's made throughout his career. He's an immature pr...

Re: Stadium thread
Two things I've been wondering about a possible relocation: If either stadium in L.A. is going to be built, it will only be _after_ an NFL team commits to move there. The AEG stadium has a time frame of being finished in 2016. So what would the Vikings (or any other team) do between the date that t...

Re: How do you feel about Ponder as our QB?
It would have made sense in the second round, considering the talent pool in this year's draft. Had there been three QBs who were far and away the pick of the litter and then a bunch of dregs aside from that, then sure, you have to pull the trigger. But, I did not feel that way about this group. Fo...

Re: Stadium thread
San Antonio isn't that big, it's #37. Only Jacksonville, Buffalo, and New Orleans are smaller markets with teams. LA is #2, MSP is #15. Other markets with > 1M TV homes without NFL teams are #19 Orlando, #20 Sacto, #22 Portland, #25 Raleigh-Durham and #30 Hartford. Note: in my analysis of TV market...

Re: Stadium thread
San Antonio is another huge market without a team. Don't know if that'll ever happen but its a possibility I would think. if the vikings leave Minnesota would the court cases between players union and league be forced to move outside the state? that's one potential reason that the league ...
