Re: Lunchbreak: Zimmer Ranked Among Top 10 NFL Coaches by 'Sporting News'

The defense was relatively healthy but I think it's a pretty big oversight that he failed to realize we went most of the year with our 3rd string QB. And on top of that, the loss of Dalvin Cook. The 2nd Saints game may have been a "miracle" but the first game, when we had our starting QB, was a dom...

Re: Lunchbreak: Zimmer Ranked Among Top 10 NFL Coaches by 'Sporting News'

Just listened to a segment on the Colin Cowherd radio show, and T.J. Houshmanzadeh just destroyed Cowherd when it comes to the Vikings. Cowherd was talking about the teams he thinks will do better than predicted, and then he talked about the teams he thinks are overrated. First on his overrated list...

Re: Lunchbreak: Zimmer Ranked Among Top 10 NFL Coaches by 'Sporting News'

I agree. I think he's definitely a top 10 coach. Some may disagree due to the whole Super Bowl thing which I can see but I think there are a lot of good coaches out there that don't have a SB and not so good coaches that do have a SB. Yeah, I think you'll see that with Gruden in Oakland. Yes, he ha...

Re: Anthony Barr on contract: It’s on Vikings and I’d like to get it done

I decided to promote this because it seems even more relevant now with Hunter's extension. I'm not good with the money stuff. Does anybody know if it's even (realistically) possible to fit both Diggs and Barr in with the cap space we have left? According to an article in the Strib by Goessling, it'...

Re: Vikings Agree to Terms with Danielle Hunter on Contract Extension

This is a good job by the Vikings With Richardson joining the front line, Hunter could be set up for a huge season. In that case, he would have commanded big bucks on the open market, more than he got from the Vikings. This is pretty much a hometown discount. It also tells me something about Hunter....

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2017

I was an early supporter of Thielen although if I'm honest, I didn't think he would rise to a Pro Bowl level. The effort was always there, even on special teams. He always had great hands and you could really see his route running improve as the years ticked by. Such a great story, I hope he's anot...

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2017

#36- Adam Thielen- I'll be the first to eat crow on Thielen. A few years back, I went back and forth with a few guys on here regarding Thielen. Granted, nobody on here thought he would be this good but some had more confidence in him than I did. I was definitely wrong about him but I'm sure glad he...

Re: What is your minimum definition of success for the 2018-19 season?

we got people on this board that have been fans longer than i have been alive. I was a few months old when they played in their last bowl.To say anything short of a bowl is a success is mind boggling.i'm tired of waiting. This is the most complete team on paper with the shiny new qb that I have eve...

Re: If we have to lose a young core player?

I agree, it was reported that he was seen speaking with Zimmer and absent a new deal is probably going to skip any voluntary aspects of the offseason. Smart move absent a contract, especially when you read stories about the few players who've torn ACLs already during OTAs. Man, I kind of feel for t...

Re: What is your minimum definition of success for the 2018-19 season?

This question underscores the biggest difference in attitude I have from many Vikings fans. To me, last year was a smashing success. We were coming off an incredibly disappointing 8-8 season that we had started 5-0. We lost our starting quarterback and promising running back. Yet we went 13-3 and ha...

Re: Vikings Draft Picks

But how do you rate a draft? You give a grade based on the number of guys the GM finds that can step on the field Game 1 of the next season and start? Or even make an immediate impact? Or do you grade it based on the performance of those players over the life of their rookie contracts and whether t...

Re: Vikings Draft Picks

We've seen teams "win" in the offseason and it not pan out on the field so I'm trying not to put too much stock into everything but right now it definitely feels like a let down. Hopefully camp and preseason changes things for the better. By "let down," do you mean the draft, or the entire offseaso...

Re: Vikings Draft Picks

I suspect that Shurmer was slightly better at OC than Defillipo, but I'm not sure. I strongly doubt Defillipo is far worse than Shurmer, so I'd rate this a push. I think that's fair. However, I also think we're going to be pleasantly surprised at what John DeFilippo can do with this offense. I've w...

Re: Vikings Draft Picks

I guess for me, it's about the rating the so-called experts are giving the Vikings on this draft. While I do wish we'd have addressed our need at guard, I'm not necessarily complaining about who we got. I just don't see this as an A- draft, as many analysts do. Look at last year, when we didn't even...

One of the beat writers (Tomasson?) called Kai to get his reaction and allegedly he hung up.
Maybe if Forbath hit more than 87% of his extra points, he'd have an argument.
