Re: 2024 NFL Draft

It's almost like they assumed they could just keep adding on short term to keep Cousins around while kicking the replacement can down the road, only Cousins apparently no longer was interested in the shorter term deals he seemed to prefer when he was a younger man with more road in front of him. I ...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

I guess my whole argument is on the assumption that KOC and McCown (not KAM) are good at evaluating QB's and have a guy they think fits their system with flaws they deem fixable. This is the first time KOC (a supposed QB whisperer) has been able to hand pick his QB and I just want KAM to do that fo...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

I am not sure I agree with you on some of what you’re saying. I like Penix a lot. But to say he had a crappy Oline and suspect receivers is very questionable. His oline was one of the best in the nation. They won the Joe Moore award in 2024 for the best offensive line in the country. Link below for...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

I've just heard to many people on here and various podcasts that are dead set against trading up and I just don't agree on that logic. I'm not dead set against a trade up, but I don't think there is much to support that move this year given the nature of the draft class at QB. Hope isn't a strategy...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

Thirteen of the 67 quarterbacks who will have started a Super Bowl by Sunday were the top picks in their respective drafts. That includes 11 No. 1 selections in the standard NFL draft, a No. 1 pick in the 1965 AFL Draft (Joe Namath) and the top choice in the NFL’s supplemental draft in 1984 (Steve ...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

But I don't really understand the "don't trade up" philosophy some of you have. I just want the Vikes to get 'their guy'. That may mean we have to trade up. I haven't see anyone say the Vikings shouldn't trade up if it made the most sense to trade up. I have seen people question whether s...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

Our 2024 NFL Draft thread is turning into another Cousins love hate fest. He's gone. What else does this team need besides a QB? I prefer to look at both sides of the LOS play. If you can dominate the point of attack then you can control a game. Anybody see possible later round prospects that can d...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

I am just ecstatic to be rid of Kirk Cousins!! I'm happy the Vikings finally are going in a different direction too. Granted, it sounds like they wanted to keep going with Cousins and it was Cousins who made the decision for them, but the end result is KAM and KOC got their security blanket pulled ...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

An interesting read that provides some more perspective on the QBs in this draft class: https://walterfootball.com/draft2024positionreviewQB.php Maye gets some really favorable ratings in that review. When I read about Maye I have a really hard time reconciling what I'm reading sometimes with that r...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

Give me Penix or Nix. Don't get me wrong, I trade the 3 1sts for a Jayden Daniels if given the opportunity. He's my favorite of all. They, Penix and Nix played in the Pac 12 and its a passing league ! That gets severely looked over. These guys played at Indiana and Auburn before going out West and ...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

That was a damn good read. Thanks VV. Your welcome. I like Nix. A lot. He's 3rd on my personal board. Interesting article. Thanks for posting it. I do like Bo Nix and wouldn't be upset if the Vikings took him with either of their two first rounders. He does seem to be a natural fit with KOC and I t...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

What would you propose doing? Staying put at 11? Not necessarily, but given the nature of this QB class I'd be far more inclined to stay at 11 than move up and chase after a best-of-what-is-left prospect. I am not gonna go back and forth and argue about who’s right and who’s wrong because neither o...
