Re: Vikings Playoff Scenarios
Taking a look at the NFC playoff teams and how the've done vs. teams with winning records. (I'm not bothering with the NFC East teams.): SF: Opponents with winning records 5: Record 3-2, Lost @ Home vs. SEA and @ BAL. 2 Road win vs. NO & LAR NO: Opponents with winning records 3: Record 1-2 Lost ...

Re: Vikings Playoff Scenarios
IMO GB is a product of their schedule and at last count 12 questionable calls that went their way. (One of which gave them their win vs. DET.) GB has benefited from more favorable calls than any other team this season. Of three playoff teams they have played this season their schedule was quite favo...

Re: Vikings Playoff Scenarios
That's just a bizarre take. I understand sample size is important in terms of data and science in general, but sports is a bit different. Look at it this way - the Lions looked like a really solid team at the beginning of the year but absolutely fell apart after the bogus penalties that caused them...

Re: Vikings Playoff Scenarios
I hate to say it, but it is all about GB losing this Sunday and us winning. Then it sets up the showdown for all the Marbles on MNF. How awesome would that be? (Then agian, that broadcast crew is TERRIBLE... UGH) We'd still need to beat the Bears I think to clinch. I think the #2 seed is not out of ...

Re: Vikings vs. Lions postgame
the short passing of late has been in response to playing teams with strong pass rushers. That and our OL/RB are probably NFL best in the screen game. This is a great example of how much better Stefanski / Kubiak has been at game planning vs. the JDF disaster. Coaching matters...

Re: Vikings vs. Lions postgame
Not much to say about the game itself, it was a very methodical win, not really exciting. We were at home and defensively, we were too much for their injury depleted offense. Defensively, their unit gave us challenges, so for me the biggest positive was how well the Vikings did taking care of the fo...

Re: Zimmer is on HOT SEAT!!!
I feel I need to remind people that we just lost a game in arguably the hardest stadium within which to win a prime time game. the most likely outcome of MNF was a loss. Yeah, we needed the W, but that game was a far cry from losing to say OAK or even the Broncos the week before. IMO, that loss was ...

Re: How do you like having a coach who says after a loss that it is not the end of the world
Well I can't speak for Zimmer, but I do know that a lot of the leading NFC teams will play each other in the coming weeks. Given that the teams are so tight it is possible that the positioning will shuffle some. DAL is basically a lock to be the #4 seed. NO, SEA, SF, GB, and yes, MN will duke it out...

Re: Seahawks post-mortem
ST Fumbles are an issue, so was Fake Punt, and missed PAT. Bad day for ST IMO. Turnovers by offense bad, but not sure on cause. I think Cook was injured on a previous play before the fumble. The pick to Diggs seemed like just a great defensive play vs an error by either Diggs or Cousins. We miss Thi...

Re: Kirk Cousins is in a no win situation
IMO we are either on level with SF or slightly below. You think the Vikings could take the Ravens almost to overtime at the Ravens? We just were within 4 points of beating the team that handled the 49ers, and we did it on the road and in primetime. So yeah, I do. This might be the most u...

Re: Kirk Cousins is in a no win situation
LOL just saw this in a tweet: Kirk Cousins simply cannot allow 400-plus yards on defense and expect to be considered an elite quarterback. #Vikings That is a great one liner for where the Vikings are at. Something is up with how Zimmer is calling games and adjusting. It really feels like they are g...

Re: Kirk Cousins is in a no win situation
I don't like that we lost last night, but that wasn't a terrible loss. That was a hard fought game in which both teams battled back from adversity. The Vikings just couldn't quite overcome the mistakes on defense. That begs more commentary, but I'll deal with that in another post. I think folks are ...

Vikings @ SEA - Pregame Thread
This is THE game of the season so far IMO. We have to win this one to keep pace with the packers. SF did us a solid and exposed the poser Packers team by handing them a deserved drubbing on national TV and putting them on equal footing in the win loss column. The problem is GB has a ridiculously sof...

Re: A little early but college QBs
I wonder if they are going to try to bring Teddy back. Zimmer loves him so it is not hard to see that approach. That being said, he'll command vet QB money and will be highly sought after in FA this off season. Then again, I suspect the rush on "Lamar Jackson" clones in the draft so you mi...

Re: Into the Bye - State of 2019 Campaign Assessment
The offense this year was really a story of why September is an extension of pre-season in the NFL. We got stung twice with two early division games while our O was still figuring itself out. Since then we've been great. Cousins has been a big part of it also. I think an argument can be made that if...
