Re: Viking Draft selections
Would have to say the drafting of Trae Waynes looks bad now, but the Giants busted on Eli Apple too, it just happens. Waynes wasn't that bad. He was a reliable run defender and tackler and often had decent position. If Waynes had a glaring flaw it was he didn't seem to turn that ability to stay int...

Re: Viking Draft selections
My thoughts are...Mac wasn't happy in the slot and Zimmer wouldn't move him. So he got out. Kearse wanted more playing time and wasn't getting it and said he was gone. And Wayne's was all about getting paid...which we couldn't afford to do with our cap situation. I couldn't agree more. Obviously Ke...

Re: Viking Draft selections
It's a worthwhile point: they DO seem to put emphasis on character, which is smart. I don't have the data, but IIRC this year we selected a number of players who were captains, even as underclassmen. Creating and maintaining a healthy locker room chemistry is important. My gut tells me that they we...

Re: Viking Draft selections
Maybe it's all the gold helmets. We had a lot at one point, with Barr, Kendricks, Smith, and Rudolph. Plus Robert Blanton at the time and I think maybe one more. It's a worthwhile point: they DO seem to put emphasis on character, which is smart. I don't have the data, but IIRC this year we selected...

Re: Vikings offensive line
I agree, its the one place Spielman and the Vikings system has failed miserably is on the offensive line.Denny Green made the oline a priority. But so did Dallas, and having a great oline won them nothing. But they have to be good. Cousins first year was embarrassing, stats were ok, but sometimes h...

Re: Viking Draft selections
Spielman is actually better then average. there are more Vikings who were drafted on the roster then any other team. Draft is a crapshoot. Some kids work there tail off, some dont. That helps a lot. If you look at Spielmans drafts he picks a lot of Notre Dame guys, guys who are low trouble hard wor...

Re: Vikings offensive line
For sure, I understand you weren't talking about Simpson exclusively. I would say my same question applies to Kindley, Stenber and Dotson, etc collectively and individually. I have not problem with anyone saying, I think X was a better pick than Y, but that seems to be the relevant point in regards...

Re: Viking Draft selections
I am always an optimistic person, but we draft so many players that are out of the league quicker than any other team. I get it with so many draft picks, but when you draft people, you have to replace people. I just am hoping for a great draft. As far as needs, we continue to move down and possibly...

Re: Vikings 2020 draft choices. So what is everyone think about this years draft.
My first post new here. I am old enough to have seen Tommy Kramer in a real game. Nice draft. speilman did well accumulating extra picks. Thats a lot of kids, if half stick it will remake roster. Trying rebuild now on the fly. I am glad Diggs is gone, dont have to watch all the extras that he did. W...
