They can franchise him for two seasons if they really want as well. Granted that still results in the player being traded most of the times, or no long term deal reached. They can control him for this season (final of rookie deal), and two more, if they wanted though.

I like it. For many of the reasons above. Simply, I want to see returns in the game. It's supposed to mean something.

Darnold was dropped into baaad nyj structure. Then shipped to car dumpster fire. That staff was pretty meh too. Sf is the only place he's been where he had good structure. Do I think he is suddenly a decade long starter? No. I do think he will be serviceable with KOC and his offensive system though....
